III. PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE MEASURES:

NDRRMC OpCen • Disseminated NDRRMC Weather Advisories on Low Pressure Area (LPA), Gale Warnings, and Flood Bulletins to all regions likely to be affected through SMS and facsimile and uploaded the same at the NDRRMC Website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for further dissemination to their respective local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) from the provincial down to the municipal levels • Directed RDRRMCs concerned through the OCD Regional Centers to undertake precautionary measures in their respective areas of responsibility (AOR) and subsequently advised local DRRMCs to initiate pre-emptive evacuation of families in low-lying and mountainous areas if situation warrants • PAGASA continuously provides NDRRMC OpCen with updates on the TECF, Gale Warnings, and General Flood Bulletins

RDRRMCs /OCD RCs

RDRRMC IV-B • OCDRC IV-B coordinated with different member agencies for harmonization of response efforts, provision of assistance and continuously monitoring the situation in the AOR; deployed OCD damage and Assessment Team to Province of Oriental Mindoro

2 • DSWD prepositioned 600 food packs for Oriental Mindoro while MSWDO Naujan provided food and water to the evacuees • PHTO-CHD IV-B provided assorted medicines such as doxycycline, loperamide, loratidine, cotrimoxazole, miconazole nitrate and acapulko soap to Naujan and Baco RHU’s amounting to PhP122,500.00 • MDRRMC Baco provided relief good such as rice, sardines and noodles amounting to PhP3,840.00 • MDRRMC Mansalay provided relief assistance to the evacuees • MDRRMC Calapan thru MSWD provided food assistance such as rice, sardines and noodles amounting to PhP8,625.00 • PRC Calapan provided hot meals to the affected residents of Baco • Public Safety Department of Calapan City deployed personnel to the affected areas • Phil. Navy and TOG8-PAF augmented in the conduct of evacuation of affected families in Palo, Leyte • AFP 203 RD Infantry Brigade placed on standby three (3) 6x6 trucks, seven (7) KM 450 trucks, one (1) speed boat, and 40 officer-led personnel in Oriental Mindoro; 4 th IB placed on standby two (2) 6x6 trucks and 50 personnel in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro

RDRRMC VI • PDRRMC provided 7 sacks of rice, 5 boxes of sardines and 5 boxes of noodles to Sagay City while 2 sacks of rice, 50 tins of sardines, 20 packs of noodles and 50 packs of coffee were provided to Cardiz City • PDRRMC Capiz provided relief goods, rice, sardines and noodles to the municipalities of , Pontevedra, Sigma, and Dao • AFP 601 st Infantry (Reserve) Division, PA, Capiz Emergency Response Team (CERT) and PDRRMC Capiz conducted ocular inspection in the flooded municipalities • DSWD provided assistance amounting to PhP229,910.00 to Pontevedra • OCDVI together with Secretary Mar Roxas, Governor Victor A. Tanco and members of PDRRMC Capiz conducted ocular inspection to the Municipalities of Dao and Sigma, and provided financial assistance to the families of drowned victims. • OCDVI and PDRRMC Capiz conducted ocular inspection to Municipality of Pontevedra, Capiz. • OCDVI turned-over to Governor Tanco the non food items intended for the flood victims as follows: 2 bundles of blanket, 6 packs of mat and 2 packs of mosquito net.

RDRRMC VII • MDRRMC Tayasan conducted Search and Rescue operation and recovered the body of Ms Jean Academia

RDRRMC VIII • PDRRMC Northern Samar deployed personnel to conduct ocular inspection in respective areas of concern • CDRRMC Tacloban conducted an ocular land survey in the flood and landslide prone areas • LDRRMC Tolosa and other volunteer groups conducted SAR operations and rescued the missing fisherman • Palo Rescue , led by Mr. Arvee Mooney evacuated the affected families
