CPO Robert Lee Kruger Chief Petty United States Coast Guard

Chief Petty Officer Robert Lee Kruger, USCG, Ret. assumed the duties as Veteran Services Officer in June 2021. His primary responsibility is the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims under laws administered by the Department of Veteran Affairs and community outreach.

CPO Kruger enlisted in on July 29, 1997 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. CPO Kruger enlisted into the United States Coast Guard in April 2006. He has attended many specialized training courses during his career including Specific Emitter Identifier Course, Electronic Warfare Officer School, and Radiological Hazard Level II. He is a Graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy and United States Air Force Airmen Leadership School. He also obtained his 100 gross ton Captains license with towing endorsement. He has also earned his national certification as a Victim Advocate and State of California Crisis Line Counselor (CLC) specializing in child, elderly, and military trauma.

CPO Kruger awards include four CG Achievement medals, four Humanitarian Service Medals, one Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, one Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, One rifle and pistol Expert ribbons, AF Small Arms Expert, AF Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, two armed forces expeditionary medals.

CPO Kruger is married to the former Jamie M. Martin of Conway, NC. They have three wonderful children: Robert, Miguel, and Maya. They reside in Seaboard, NC.
