Thomas Wildey Day Proclamation To all Members of all Degrees of the Independ- ent Order of Odd Fellows Fraternal Greetings: Whereas, pursuant to a dream, Thomas Wildey founded an Order that in time would influence men and women of every walk of life, and Whereas, it is appropriate to remember the founder of our Order who through his vision, determination, wisdom and talent saw the culmination of his dream, which resulted into the priceless heritage, we enjoy today. Barrett Sovereign Grand Secretary Educational Foundation Proclamation To the Officers and Members of all De- grees of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Fraternal Greetings: Whereas, the Edu- cational Foundation, the oldest project of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, es- tablished in 1927, has made it possible for thousands of people from all walks of life to further their education with low interest loans amounting to more than 7.4 million dol- lars, and Whereas, the Educational Foundation depends upon donations from all Units and members for its continued service in this most important field, and Whereas, the need for loans is ever increasing to meet the higher cost of helping men and women to find their place in life, working in all types of professional, business and trade fields, and Whereas, one of our commands is: ‘to educate’; what better way to achieve this command than through loans and scholarships of the Educational Foundation. Now Therefore, I, E. Hello Everyone here is my Newsletter for November. It is getting much colder outside so be sure to dress warm' I guess the HOT summer is gone so now the COLD winter will soon be upon us. Covid-19 is once again raging SO BE CAREFUL! Pleaser follow the CDC guidelines- you know the drill- wear a mask, do social distancing, and wash your hands often, For those of you who say you cannot wear a mask please try the KN95 mask; these give the nose more room and are more comfortable than the blue and white ones. Please try them; I had an occasion to and loved it. Plan to buy some more. It appears there are a couple of vaccines that are being worked on and are very promising so keep your fingers crossed that they will be the miracle cure and answer to the pandemic we have all been waiting for! Diane, Sharon, and myself recently attended the JJYC meeting at Acme Re- bekah Lodge; dinner was delicious and it was a very interesting meeting. Any mem- ber is welcome to attend; the next meeting will be April 18, 2021 at Unity Lodge, South Portland- Lunch at 12 noon- Meeting at 1:00 pm. We will be doing 8 Families for Christmas this year so will be making a few children happy. I am busy planning the Home Christmas Party and I have 8 of the finest Elves to assist me. It will be a little different this year because we cannot enter the home but we still want the Residents to receive gifts. We will be assembling at Hampton Inn on Wednesday evening, December 2nd, then shop and wrap Thursday and Fri- day then go home on Saturday morning, The gifts will be left at the Office, across the street, so the workers can bring them to the home whenever they are ready to celebrate. I am planning a little party for my committee on Friday evening but I am not giving away all the details. Cards would be appreciated by Lucille Nelson; she is now residing at Montello Manor-540 College Street, Lewiston, ME 04240. She has Parkinson's and cannot walk so let's get some notes on the way to cheer her up. Also don't forget Louise Lancaster, Connie Clements, and Olive Daily. Well I guess this is all the news, for this month, so will be back, with more news, next month,. In the meantime if you need anything please call me at 839- 4723. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!! In FL &T Joyce Young, President REMEMBER :"You Miss 100% of the shots you Never Take"

Page 5 Merry Christmas Santa’s Helpers, Thank you for helping to make a family happier this year. As a member of the Joint Jurisdictional Youth Committee you have chosen to find a family with children, so you (the committee member) may be able to make their holi- day brighter. This is part of what the of the OddFellows and Rebekah’s are. To help the widow and orphans. As we do not have orphans in the times when the degree was written we do need to help the youth in our society now. With the Times and Pan- demic, what it has done to families, we can help a little. This year we are able to help 8 families, thanks to all the donations from all places and members that have donated time and money, you all are appreciated. This is the letter that is being written to all 8 members that will be buying for a family Christmas. Doesn’t this make you feel proud to be a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs? The JJYC’s meet 4 times a year, if you are able to join in on these meeting you will always be invited in. Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year The Annual Potato Run went quite well this year, it not only distributes potatoes to food pantries around the State but also gives lodge members an opportunity to meet and work together. The Lodge and Community Fund pays for the Bags that are given to the food pan- tries , and if anyone wants some for their Lodge or personal use, they have to pay for those themselves. All we ask is that we have a count of the personal bags so they can be ready for pick-up. Fraternally G.S. Michael Anderson Its that time of year again, soon I will be sending out the Annual Reports. They will come in three sections and they can be returned individually as soon as each part is completed, the only part that would take longer is the financial portion, which would have to wait for bank statements. The other two parts should be returned in early Janu- ary.
