Wildcat Basketball History FULLER, JOHNSON TO RED SHIRT Weber State head coach Randy Rahe has announced freshmen Todd Fuller and Spencer Johnson will be red shirt this season. Fuller is a 6-9, 225-pound forward out of Gilbert, Arizona Weber State entered the 2018-19 season and Johnson is a 6-5, 175-pound guard from American Fork, Utah. Both players returned home with the 23rd best winning percentage in this spring from serving two-year missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. history. WSU entered the season with a .636 all-time winning percentage in 54 seasons of Division I basketball to rank 22nd all-time.

He has 979 career games at Weber State, leaving him just 21 points away from 1,000 career points.

WILDCATS PICKED SECOND IN BIG SKY PRESEASON POLLS The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason media and coaches polls. Montana was picked first in both polls followed by the Wildcats. Weber State has been picked first or second in the polls for 11-straight seasons. Northern Colorado was picked third both polls with Eastern Washington fourth.

COACHING STAFF Wildcat head coach Randy Rahe returns for his 13th season as head coach at Weber State. Rahe is the Big Sky’s all-time leader in victories with 248 and is the conference’s all-time leader in conference wins with 154. He has led the Wildcats to five Big Sky titles and has coached six Big Sky Conference MVP’s. Eric Duft is also back for his 13th season as the associate head coach of the Wildcats. Garett Lever is back for his seventh season as an assistant coach and David Marek is in his third season with the Wildcats.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST JUNKANOO JAM TEAMS Weber State has played each of the three teams in the Junkanoo Jam at least once in its history. The Wildcats are 3-3 all-time against San Jose State. The ‘Cats played the Spartans four times from 2011-13 and won the last game played, a 72-55 win in Ogden in November 2013. The Wildcats are 1-0 against Central Michigan with the only game played in the first round of the 2015 Gulf Coast Showcase in Florida, a 63-60 Wildcat win. Weber State is 2-0 all-time against Cal State Bakersfield. The two teams played twice during the 2007-08 season.

TIP-INS With Friday’s win over Bethesda, Weber State improved to an incredible 109-6 under head coach Randy Rahe when scoring 80 points or more in a game. WSU is 12-0 when scoring 100 points or more...In addition, the ‘Cats are 84-5 under coach Rahe when holding opponents under 60 points...The 27 assists in Friday’s win is tied for the ninth most assists in a game in school history.

LOOKING AHEAD After the Junkanoo Jam, the Wildcats will be off until a home game on Nov. 27 against Benedictine University out of Mesa, Arizona. The next home game will be December 1 against BYU.

Rahe is now Weber State’s all-time winningest coach and the winningest coach in Big Sky Con- ference history in overall wins and conference wins.

In his 12 seasons at Weber State, Rahe has led the Wildcats to five Big Sky titles and nine postseason tournament appearances, including three trips to the NCAA Tournament. He is also the first coach in Big Sky Con- ference history to be named conference Coach of the Year four times and has coached six Big Sky MVP’s in his 11 seasons at Weber State.

Rahe has the most wins in Weber State history and the second most in Big Sky history and the most conference wins in Big Sky history.

During the 2015-16 season, Rahe led the Wildcats to a 26-9 season that included a Rahe Profile Big Sky regular season title and the conference postseason tournament championship. Born: June 12, 1960 Weber State also made its second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last three years. Hometown: Bancroft, Iowa Rahe coached Joel Bolomboy to Big Sky MVP and Defensive Player of the Year honors Alma Mater: Buena Vista ‘82 as well as to first team All-Big Sky honors.
