RANKING POINTS for Open REFEREES AND RULES Singles and Open Doubles

We do expect all players to play fairly and not require referees. However if required, an official ITSF referee will be available on request. The decision of the referee can be appealed to the tournament Director (Fred Gower) whose word will be final. We will be following the ITSF rules which can be found on the website www.table-soccer.org in many languages including English and Chinese.

For Open events the final game of the match shall be to 5 points but you must win by 2 up to a maximum of 8 points.

Normally Forward Shootout and Goalie War have 15 seconds per possession and two timeouts per game. We will reduce this to 10 seconds and only 1 timeout per game.

In addition to this, in Goalie War you are only allowed to have the balled pinned for 3 seconds. Which means that after pinning or stopping the ball it must be shot within 3 seconds or else passed to another man before being shot?

For 2 Ball Rollerball event it will NOT allow pin shots. If you stop or pin the ball you must touch a second player before shooting or passing.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION Unless announced differently, all events are Double elimination which means that the event is not over until every team except the winner loses 2 matches. In the finals, the winner of the loser’s side must defeat the winner of the winner’s side twice in order to be the champion.

OFFICIAL BALL We will be using the official yellow Fireball ball for all events.

RANKINGS (Amateur, Semi­Pro, and Pro) Anyone can move up a ranking just by letting us know their desire to move up and that can apply to individual or to all events. A person can only move down a ranking if one of the tournament organizers agrees. If you don’t know your current ranking please ask us. In Shanghai, anyone ranked 1­4 is an Amateur. 5’s are Semi Pros. 6s are Pros. We reserve the ability to re­rank players up without their permission at any time based on the quality of their play. If you think we have ranked you too high we are willing to get input from others as well.

NO HANDICAPS All events have no handicaps since there are events for players of all levels.

SEEDS In open single and double 4­8 teams will be seeded according to their ITSF ranking. The tournament organizer also reserves the right to seed an additional 4 teams/player as wild cards.

REGISTRATION AND SIGNING UP If you purchase the package you are automatically registered for all your events. Please check­in prior to the match to let us know that you have arrived. We will make a limited attempt to contact you if you are not in attendance at the time your match is called. Please do not abuse this. If you do not register for the package deal then you will need to register prior to the event. Registration closes 30 minutes prior to the start of each event. If delayed, call in to one of the organizers but no promises on the response. Best make sure that we have your mobile number. BE AWARE THAT THE MOBILE RECEPTION IN HARLEY’S IS VERY POOR. If you walk up the stairs part way you will be fine. They have free Wi­Fi there. The password is on the board at the bar. Best to text or email us if you can’t call us by phone.

ENTRY FEES Pre­registration before 17th AUG. Register and pay by then to save some money. Regular registration fees are still the cheapest in the world. Be happy.

OTHER INFORMATION

FOOD AND OUTSIDE DRINKS Food is not prepared at Harley’s. But you are permitted to bring your own food in. Ask the staff and they will provide some takeout menus for Chinese and Western Restaurants in the area. Water will be made available for free at Harley’s. Please do not bring any outside drinks into any of the events.

SMOKING AND TOILET If you are a smoker, please smoke in the designated areas and still be available to hear your name if it is called for a match. If you must leave for a washroom or any other break have a friend listen for your name or else check to see if your match has been called when you return. We will have a paper version of the event visible to all players on the walls near the tables.
