Making History 2016 MAKING HISTORY 2016 Chiappa Firearms srl, Brescia, Italy Chiappa Firearms USA, ltd, Dayton,Ohio It’s through curiosity and love for challenges that we’ve always mapped our path at Chiappa Firearms. There will always be another challenge to take on and we’ll not be afraid to play the game. A curious nature, a passion for fi rearms and a love for challenges have always guided our path at Chiappa Firearms. There will always be another challenge to take on and we’ll not be afraid to play the game. The history of the Chiappa Group began in 1958, when Ezechiele (Oscar) Chiappa opened his company and called it Armi Sport. Initially an artisanal workshop, the company has grown over the years to become an industrial group, still wholly owned by the Chiappa family. 4 CHIAPPAFIREARMS The Chiappa Group includes the companies Armi Sport (defense, sporting and replica firearms), KIMAR (small caliber and blank guns), ACP (training systems), Costa (surface treatment of metals) and Chiappa Firearms USA, Ltd. (USA distribution center). The success story of the Chiappa Group derives from a combination of factors, among which are a great technical experience matured over 60 years; ability, the courage and entrepreneurial spirit of the President Rino Chiappa, and the total dedication to work of the whole Chiappa family. These capabilities have lead the Chiappa Group to a series of winning choices, focusing on technological advancement, on understanding and meeting the needs of the market while constantly introducing new models, but also offering accuracy and continued support to customers. All stages of production are carried out entirely within the company. The manufacturing process begins with the design of the 3D model - the starting point - followed by the realization of prototypes and the transfer of data to CNC machines. Through specifi c CAM software, the machining equipment is able to produce any component in a very short time taking instructions directly from the 3D drawings. THE CHIAPPA GROUP THE CHIAPPA PIONEERS OF THE GUN WORLD CHIAPPAFIREARMS 5 Order and organization are common to all factory departments: the workshop with numerical control machines (CNC) for the processing of components machined from solid steel such as receivers and breeches, or for the realization of all types of stocks and other small parts; manufacturing of barrels; die casting and molding of plastic material; ovens and equipment for heat treatment; surface treatment, such as bluing, parkerizing, nickel plating, as well as equipment for grinding and polishing of metal and wood components. The entire manufacturing process is managed and coordinated by a computer system that encompasses all steps of production. This system allows for a thorough control of the execution time, thus keeping production costs tightly monitored. Finally, all fi rearms are visually inspected and test fi red in the shooting range built inside the company before being brought to the packaging area. Thanks to the experience of the personnel, the tradition of artisan craftsmanship cohabits with a modern organization within the same factory, fostering maximum effi ciency. 6 CHIAPPAFIREARMS The Chiappa Group manufactures a wide range of models. The catalog includes replicas of American historic weapons and muzzleloaders, lever action shotguns and rifles, handguns and rifles in .17 and .22 rimfi re, sporting and self defense handguns such as the famous Rhino, signal guns and air guns. As a direct result of the optimization of the manufacturing process, all Chiappa products are an excellent value. The Chiappa Group today is a rapidly developing, constantly evolving corporation. The great capacity to innovate with flexibility and dynamism, the wide range of products and the excellent value for the consumer have allowed the Chiappa Group to spread sales in 60 countries, being fully able to compete with the biggest companies in the world. CHIAPPAFIREARMS 7 CHIAPPA LA322 RIFLE- The lever action .22lr is an American classic. Chiappa continues this legacy by using modern technology and materials to produce the LA322. This beautiful rimfi re is as attractive as it is functional. Accurate, quick handling and rapid shooting, the LA322 embodies all the qualities that Americans want in a lever action rifl e. A 3/8” dovetail is machined into the top of the receiver so optics are easily added for small game hunting or plinking. Another coveted feature is the take down design letting the shooter easily and quickly separate the buttstock from the action for easy transport and storage. Chiappa’s LA322 is available in various models to suit any need or desire. • A Basic Firearm Tutorial by John Kraemer, F-ABMDI April 2009
A Basic Firearm Tutorial By John Kraemer, F-ABMDI April 2009 Statistics for Firearm-Related Deaths According to a 2005 study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were almost 31, 000 firearm‐related deaths within the United States. Of the 31, 000 deaths, 55% of those deaths were certified as suicides, 40% certified as homicides, 3% certified as accidents, and the remaining 2% were certified as undetermined. A previous study by the CDC covering the years 1993 to 1998 also found that most firearm‐related deaths were again caused by self‐inflicted acts and men and individuals between the ages of 15 and 34 comprised a majority of those firearm‐related deaths. Every medical examiner or coroner’s office across the country has investigated a firearm‐ related death. Depending on your jurisdiction, these types of deaths may comprise a large portion of your caseload or a small portion. Regardless of the number of firearm‐related deaths your office investigates, every medicolegal death investigator must be knowledgeable in the safe handling of firearms, basic ballistics terminology and the parts of a particular firearm, whether it be a semi‐automatic handgun, revolver, shotgun or rifle. General Safety Practices The safe approach to and subsequent handling of firearms is your personal responsibility. Safety is the number one priority when handling such weapons. At any death scene involving a firearm, the death investigator MUST ALWAYS ASSUME THE FIREARM IS LOADED! Most accidental discharges of a firearm are the result of not following safe gun handling practices and failure to use common sense.

  • Revolver Revolution
Revolver Revolution History Instinctive shooting An unprecedented performance Safeties Materials and finish More plusses Accessories Packaging Model range - Technical Chart Operating instructions Grip instructions Press review Videos 2 When the name “Rhino” was chosen in 2002, nobody could imagine that it would be perfect to reflect not only its solid and compact shape, but the sturdy character of a rhino as well. This is the story of the Rhino revolver. In the summer of 2000 Emilio Ghisoni had already sold his company Ma.te.ba with all the relevant patents, however his passion for firearms was never extinguished, and he was anxious to be again part of the world which had given him a place in the history of firearms. After innovative projects such as Mtr8, 2006, autorevolver and other semiautomatic pistols with “co-axial” feed, what Ghisoni now had in mind was a revolver with 7 chambers, new mechanics and a low barrel, as was his style. He needed to be financed for this project, so he submitted the idea to his friend and architect Antonio Cudazzo, inventor of the FAR system. Cudazzo liked the project but was concerned that it would be a direct competitor with other Ma.te.ba products, as the concept was very similar to former models developed by Ghisoni. He was nevertheless very interested in this innovative firearm, and after a few days returned to Ghisoni, with a project modified according to his previous reflections on ergonomics and a compact shape for revolvers. He proposed to Ghisoni some drawings for a revolver for personal defense.

  • Twilight 2000
TWILIGHT 2000 Twilight 2000 is a Role playing game set in a fictional future, one where World war 3 began in the late 1990's and eventually slipped into a nuclear exchange changing society as we know it. The players assume the roles of survivors trying to live through the aftermath of the war. Twilight 2000 was published in the mid 1980's by Game Designers Workshop who unfortunately closed their doors in the early 1990's. The copyright was purchased by Tantalus, Inc but there are no stated plans to revive the game. Despite the lack of any new material from a publisher the game continues to expand through the players on websites such as this. This is my contribution to the game, this site will be in a constant state of change, I plan to add material as I get it finished. This will include new equipment, optional rules, alternate game backgrounds and other material as it accumulates, currently I am working on source material for a World war 2 background, but I also have been completing some optional rules of my own as well as modern equipment. We’re presenting a lecture, but we’re also having a discussion. It’s been very effective, in that people are not reluctant to speak up when they need better clarity. 1 Overview-Why Are We Here to Talk About Safety? The privilege of shooting carries with it certain responsibilities, and safety is number one! This program is specifically aimed at the shotgun clay target shooting games at our club--skeet, trap and 5-stand, though they generally apply to all clay target games. Although there are many common safety procedures for hunting, there are also many procedures that are not common. From the Modesto, CA newspaper—July 14, 2008: “A 71 year old man died Sunday morning when a member of a skeet shooting group accidentally shot him in the head…” “A group of club members met Sunday to go skeet shooting…A few of them were near their vehicles…One of the gentlemen accidentally touched his trigger and discharged his weapon…A past president of the club said he had heard of no other injuries or deaths at the club since it was established in 1920…The shooter has managed and run the club’s skeet range for years.” This was an accident, but an accident that easily could have, should have been avoided.
