• An old idea  Interconnecting Spanish and French Basque countries has been considered since 1967 • Preliminary steps  1981 : Sociedad Gas de Euskadi (SGE) builds a 16 inches diameter pipeline up to the French border  1992 : Gaz du Sud-Ouest (GSO) builds a 12 inches diameter pipeline up to the Spanish border • Genesis of Euskadour  1996 : initial studies to supply 0.5 Bcm/year to SGE from GSO  2001 : studies receive DG-TREN support through subsidies  2003 : agreement signed between SGE and GSO  2003 : project receive DG-TREN support through subsidies • Construction of Euskadour phase 1  November 2004 : works start  15 th of October 2005 : estimated start up date (first gas)

• Construction of Euskadour 1 is shared between Natur Corp Gas and Total Infrastructures Gaz France :  Natur Corp Gas – 3 km of pipe between Irun (Spain) and Biriatou (France) including the river crossing by means of drilling – regulation station at Irun  Total Infrastructures Gaz France – 25 km between Biriatou and Arcangues – metering station at Urrugne • Works are over on the Spanish side and are progressing well on the French side GASTECH 2005 6 Bilbao, 14 – 17 March 2005 Next step : Euskadour phase 2

• In Spain  Reinforcement of the Spanish network between Bergara and Irun  Diameter : 26 inches, Length 87 km  Environmental permit expected may 2005 • In France  Reinforcement of the French network between Arcangues and Coudures  Diameter : 24 inches, Length 95 km  Investment decision subject to de-bottlenecking of French network

• First gas tentative date : 2009 • Capacity  19 TWh /year (50 GWh /day)  Additional capacities subject to reinforcement of ENAGAS network
