Sustainability Standards

Recognized with LEED® certifications and a top rating from BREEAM®, CooperVision is setting the pace for a brighter, more sustainable business for generations to come.

Alajuela, Costa Rica Our 100,000 square-foot contact lens manufacturing facility in Alajuela, Costa Rica, was awarded the notable LEED® Silver certification – excelling in categories including energy and water conservation, waste reduction, transportation and human experience.

Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico Our 540,000-square-foot site in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico is another CooperVision contact lens manufacturing facility to earn the prestigious LEED® silver certification for environmental-conscious design and operation. The Juana Díaz facility excelled in LEED® evaluation categories including energy performance, indoor environmental quality, and location and transportation to earn the honor.

Madrid, Spain Our distribution center in Madrid, Spain obtained its LEED® Certification and was constructed with intelligent LED and natural lighting plus on-site solar power generation. This warehouse also recycles 100 percent of cardboard, plastic, and wood pallets. The Madrid site is home to CooperVision’s Iberia Center of Innovation, designed to provide clinical and practice management education to eye care professionals.

Southampton, England CooperVision’s secondary packaging and distribution facility in Southhampton, England earned a BREEAM® “Excellent” rating. Located in the Mountpark development, the site incorporates high-efficiency LED lighting and plenty of natural light. The facility encourages electric car use with integrated charge points.
