Welcome to the Christmas edition of the newsletter and we hope you enjoy reading about Parish events and the groups that advertise in the newsletter and our sponsors who make this newsletter possible. We ask that you support them if you need any of the services that they provide The Parish Council would like to wish all its parishioners a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year and look forward to seeing you at upcoming Parish Council meetings and events that we hope to hold in and around the parish. The Parish Council will soon be setting their budget for the upcoming year to assist them with setting the correct precept for our Parishioners and once this is done it will be put on the website for all to see and comment. The upcoming year could see the start of the Parish Councils vision document by this will depend on the upcoming development and bypass getting the funding it requires to start the project and build the link road which we hope will feed our new community space. As this is in its infancy, we urge all parishioners to keep abreast of the project as Alan will put any changes onto our website for your attention. It was pleasing to see that the recent Autumn Book Fayre that was held at Tharston St Marys Church on 16th November raised £400 for the church re-ordering fund. Chris Lawson would like to thank all the cake bakers and those people that attended this enjoyable event. If you feel you would like to contribute to the newsletter in any way, to publish an article or buy advert space, then please contact the clerk on the following email address, he would be happy to assist you in ensuring your work is included: [email protected]

Tharston and Hapton Parish Council

One of the major strengths of Tharston and Hapton Parish Council is the unselfish work undertaken by your councillors that goes unnoticed around the Parish. One of these councillors is Graham Bleach who undertakes the maintenance of various parish items like signs and the benches. Graham also helps with moving items around the parish, again at his own cost. Although the Parish Council does now have a maintenance contractor that does the main work, we are grateful for Graham to undertake these other tasks that need doing. This is done in his own time and the only costs to The Parish Council are the costs of the work. One such job Graham recently Merry Christmas undertook was to renovate the Tas Valley Way and The Tharston and Hapton Community Paths signs on the little green in Hapton. As you can see from the pictures below the work was completed to a very high standard and really brought the signs back to life. & Happy New Year to all I would personally like to thank graham for all his wonderful work and as a Parish Clerk this type of help is invaluable to me. Public Transport Services in Norfolk – Timetable changes for December 2019 - January 2020

Summary

There are significant changes to registered local bus services across the next few months. As you will see, the majority are from Konectbus and it is unusual to have changes in December and January, especially for the same services. We expect that a number of these changes will generate resident feedback and due to financial limitations and budgets being fully committed, Norfolk County Council may not be able to intervene. We have identified alternatives where they exist.

Konectbus have copies of the current, December and January timetables available on their website (see below).

For a full picture, we have included all the major transport services that are changing. There are some “Market Day” service changes also happening in this period. If a service is subsidised by the Council, or the service is provided on a commercial basis (meaning that the Council does provide any funding support) then this is stated.

Please note, where a service is partly funded, this means that NCC funds a certain amount of the service, which could be quite minimal, e.g. a diversion away from the main commercial route or to support evenings or Sundays. Officers (see below) will be happy to clarify.

It is advisable to contact the service operator or our officers should you require further information or clarifications or have any general queries: - www.konectbus.co.uk VQ39653Z001 13-Dec-2013 15:55 www.sanderscoaches.com www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/suffolk_norfolk www.wnct.co.uk www.coachservicesltd.com
