mainly related to the study of Roman military hierarchy.3 In “domestic” literature, basic information on this topic was presented by J. J. Wilkes, who incorporated it in the discus- sion on the Liburnian upper class,4 and in the discussion on

Raecius Rufus, who as a pri- mipilaris, gained the conditions for entry into the eques- trian order,8 which upon his return to Liburnia gave him exceptional social status and the opportunity to marry 9 the daughter of M.
