ROCKY MCMILLAN

2nd January 2017

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to wish everybody a very Happy New Year.

A warm welcome to Directors,Players and followers from Crockenhill FC .

There s been a bit of activity at the club over Christmas, but this is our first game since we beat Meridian NV FC on the 17th Dec.

As we enter the New Year we are nicely placed in our most competitive league. No doubt our opponents today, will as always test us to the limit.

We approach a really busy schedule in January, with 2 different cup 1/4 Finals - The London Senior Trophy and Kent Senior Trophy, besides some massive league fixtures.

During the break we've had yet more work done to the pitch, with a verti drain and winter fertiliser applied, so I'm hoping to present the ground in a wonderful condition today.

I hope you enjoy your afternoon at Glebe FC

The club was established in 1946 following a friendly between two local pub sides, and immediately joined the Kent Amateur League. The team became founding members of the Aetolian League in 1959. In 1964 when the London League merged with the Aetolian League the club played in the until the 1967–68 season. Crockenhill then joined the Kent League. The team achieved some success in the 1980s when they won the Kent Senior Trophy in the 1981–82 season,C which a season later was followed by becoming Kent League champions. At the end of the 1998–99 they were forced to leave the Kent League, when new rules were introduced requiring all clubs to have floodlights.

Upon returning to the Kent County League the Crocks won the Division One (West) championship in the 2000–01 season and the Premier Division title in the 2003–04 campaign. The club then left the county league to become one of the founder members of the Kent Invicta Football League for the 2011–12 season.

ADAM WOODWARD

Good afternoon and welcome today's game against Crockenhill and 1st of 2017....

Well, things have changed for me over 2016, leaving Phoenix to begin this project at Glebe FC. At the time I felt it was what I needed to become a manager and I still feel same now .

We had a good run in 2016 with a great journey in the FA Vase, getting to last 64 as I said in previous notes, it was great for this little club to get to that stage of a national competition .

On the league front we are going very steady and have games in hand over the top team, but we need to remain focused in 2017 so make sure that the objective that we set ourselves in the dressing room is achieved . I feel that we have a very balanced squad and that we have incredible team spirit amongst us and have grown together in 1st part of the season .

Unfortunately are game at Holmsdale was called off on 27th which means we haven't played for over 2 weeks . But we have trained over festive period and boys have hopefully worked off that Xmas turkey.

Today will see Aaron (TAZ) Jeffery come into squad . I am delighted to sign him and he will be a asset to team for remainder of the season . We nearly got him in summer but I'm happy I finally got my man (even though we talk almost every day )
