 Since the NBA introduced the 24-second clock in 1954, that's the fewest points that any team has scored in the first quarter of its season opener, played at home. The Canton Charge, the Cavaliers exclusively-owned D-League team, enjoyed a banner franchise year in 2014-15. Along with their successes on the court in tallying the most wins in franchise history (31-19), Canton was guided to their fourth-straight playoff appearance by their top scoring defense in the NBA Development League, with first-year Head Coach Jordi Fernandez’s team holding opponents to 95.2 points per game.

CANTON CHARGE SELECT FIVE PLAYERS IN 2015 NBA D-LEAGUE DRAFT: The 2015 NBA Development League Draft is complete, with the Canton Charge selecting five players with various college and professional experience. The Charge conducted their selections from their executive offices at the Canton Memorial Civic Center during a live draft party with Charge Nation Season Ticket Members in attendance. The five players selected will go towards filling the 16-man training camp roster. With their 1st round selection (15th overall), the Charge took guard Antonio Barton (6’2”, 180) from the University of Tennessee. The team also acquired Michael Stockton (trade, Westminster), Juvonte Reddic (53rd, VCU), Joel Smith (72nd, Northeastern) and Sampson Carter (91st, UMASS). The Charge tip off the 2015-16 campaign at the Civic Center on Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m.

ROCKIN’ THE Q: The Cavaliers sold out each of their 41 home games at Quicken Loans Arena in 2014-15, their second time selling out every game in the regular season (2009-10). The Cavs opened the 2015-16 season at The Q on Oct. 30 against the Miami Heat, which was their 11th straight home opener sellout. Cleveland also filled up the arena in all 10 home games during the 2015 Playoffs. To date, including regular season (344) and playoffs (45), there have been 389 sellouts at The Q and 55 consecutive sellouts (regular season and playoffs only).

CAVS SALUTE U.S. MILITARY WITH ANNUAL HOOPS FOR TROOPS NIGHT ON NOVEMBER 10: As part of the NBA’s “Hoops for Troops Week” (November 3rd – 11th), the Cleveland Cavaliers will host their annual Hoops for Troops Night on Tuesday, November 10th. Many in-game elements throughout the night will feature members of the U.S. Military, while the Cavs and Utah Jazz will be donning patriotic gear. Hoops for Troops Night is presented by Ohio CAT. On Tuesday, fans will see Cavs and Jazz players wearing special adidas shooting shirts, featuring the stars and stripes, red, white and blue versions of the teams’ logos. The shirt will be available for purchase in the Cavaliers Team Shop, with a portion of sales going to Wags 4 Warriors; the organization will also be the beneficiary of the evening’s 50/50 raffle. The teams will also be wearing Veterans Day-inspired Stance socks for the game. Plus coaches, staff and broadcasters from both teams will wear Hoops for Troops lapel pins. Multiple branches of the military will be represented throughout the game, beginning with the national anthem. Air Force Master Sergeant Alyson Jones will perform the Star Spangled Banner, accompanied by a Marine Corp color guard. Halftime will feature an awe-inspiring performance from the Army Silent Drill Team. The Cleveland base of the Coast Guard will be honored during the game. Fans will be able to enjoy the musical styling of the Air Force Band of Flight group, Systems Go, at section 108 on the main concourse. The group is visiting Quicken Loans Arena from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. The concourse will also feature several military-related displays, including recruitment stations. As part of their support of Hoops for Troops, Ohio CAT will be awarding $5,000 scholarships to four local military veterans. Ohio CAT also provided a prize package valued at $30,000 to a lucky Army veteran, thanks to a successful half-court shot by J.R. Smith at the Wine and Gold Scrimmage last month.
