The Mechanism: The title of this design (almost long enough to be a Lina Wertmuller flm) pretty much says everything one needs to know. It uses an independent wheel (the rotation of the escape wheels is decoupled) escapement originally designed by George Daniels. Each one has a remontoire to distribute torque as the wheels rotate diferent amounts each tick. It is a tourbillon since the whole carriage spins to (in theory) average out gravitational errors on the balance spring. And it is geared so that (if adjusted to 14400 bph) the carriage spins at 1rpm.

Acknowledging: George Daniels - for the original escapement concept combining the benefts of a detent escapement (radial thrust, reduced friction) with the lever escapement (self-starting, ease of use) Derek Pratt - for the ingenious conception of the planetary/annular tourbillon arrangement to induce counter-rotation of the escape wheels (thereby permitting the use of a single going train)

Notes: -This design requires the most precision of anything I've posted to date. Beware. -The thinner parts mean that it cannot withstand very much torque from the , so while it is geared for one minute of rotation, I don't wind mine up for more than 25 seconds (unless one continuously winds it one click every ten seconds). I will continue to try to weaken (and lengthen) the mainspring or else make it weight driven or else add another remontoire to even out the force. -The gear module used is substantially smaller. I usually try to go large enough to permit two perimeters in each tooth, but this seems to have worked without issue. -Print both an escape wheel and its mirror, 2 x the escape wheel spoke sets, and one of everything else

Non-printed parts: 2mm metal shafts (flament shafts will not work) 2 x 608 bearing

Assembly notes: (photos don't show the whole process since due to really tight tolerances, some sub-assemblies are not meant to come apart again) 1) Print all parts 2) Ream shaft holes with a 2mm drill bit 3) Assemble escape wheels by pressing together an escape wheel part with either the 7T or 9T gear (reference the photos for which wheel corresponds with which gear) and then slot in a set of spokes into the escape wheel part (note that the 9T side requires two spacers). 4) Assemble the balance as follows: a. slide together the impulse pallets, , balance spring, and one spacer. b. pin the balance spring in place with a strip of flament c. slide in the balance shaft 5) Attach the detent fork to the frame with its shaft (reference the picture) 6) Add on the escape wheels and shafts ensuring they are on the correct side (Scotch Bonnet peppers not required) 7) Press-ft sun and annular gears on the base 8) Press-ft two 608 bearings into the base 9) Press the bottom frame in through the bearings so that the hex shaft pokes out the bottom 10) Carefully aligning all shafts to their corresponding holes, press the two frame assemblies together 11) (Optional) Using a heat gun to soften the plastic, unwind the mainspring as depicted 12) Attach mainspring to hex shaft. 13) Ask questions about what in steps 1-12 doesn't make sense via the comments section 14) Post a make
