JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area)

The JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) is only available as an e-ticket. Valid for travel between Tokyo and the middle area of the main island, including travel aboard sections of the Tohoku Shinkansen, , and .

Features:

 Valid for 5 flexible travel days within a 14-day period.  Unlimited travel throughout the JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) including 4 Shinkansen Super Express Lines (also known as the Bullet Trains).  Available in Adult or Child rates in Ordinary Class.  For maps and more please refer to the JR East website.

Eligibility:

Foreign nationals who are holders of non-Japanese passports (who have entered Japan with a "Temporary Visitor" visa to stay in Japan for no longer than 90 days) are eligible. Passports are required for confirmation purposes at the time of exchange or purchase.

Validity: Any 5 days out of the 14-day period from the date of issue (Flexible 5-day use) * The date of issue refers to the date of pick-up for passes purchased overseas and the date of purchase for passes purchased in Japan.

The starting date of validity of the JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) cannot be changed.

Valid in Ordinary Class. Unlimited use of the ordinary car reserved seating on limited express trains (Shinkansen included), express trains, and local trains on JR EAST lines, all Izu Kyūkō lines, all Tokyo Monorail lines, all Hokuetsu Express lines, and the line (between "Naoetsu – Arai"), within the free usage area. In addition, there is also unlimited use of the ordinary car reserved seating on limited express trains such as the Tobu Direct Limited Express "Nikko", "SPACIA Nikko", "Kinugawa", "SPACIA Kinugawa" trains, and the local trains between Shimo-Imaichi and Tobu-nikko / Kinugawa-onsen stations on the Tobu Railway lines.

Discounts: Child Discount Children between the ages of 6 to 11 pay a reduced rate.

Conditions of use: One JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) may be purchased, per passenger, per stay in Japan. REFUNDS: Passenger may obtain a refund for the e-ticket at the office or travel agent that issued it within one year from the issue according to the regulation of each sales office. A JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) can be refunded at the nearest JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) exchange office in Japan only within the validity period and before the first date of use (in case of flexible pass before the first date of use), with a 10% handling fee deducted from the refund. No refund can be made for any reason after the first date of use. A JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) cannot be refunded or extended due to interruptions in train service, late departures or any other reasons. FEES AND CHARGES: A seat can be reserved without extra charge. Visit a JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) Travel Service Center or JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-madoguchi) in advance and present the PASS. How to Exchange your E-ticket JR EAST PASS (Nagano, Niigata area) has to be collected at one of exchange offices in East Japan within 3 months from the travel date in the PNR. Passenger will need to have a valid paper or e-ticket, a valid passport with the entry status of "Temporary Visitor". See the Exchange locations on the JR EAST Website.
