Bristol City Council Neighbourhood Conflict Resolution Grant Notification of invitation to apply for grant funding 6th October 2014 From April 2015 the City Council’s Landlord Service will grant fund one or more organisation(s) to provide the residents of Bristol with neighbourhood conflict resolution The application process for the grant funding is open to voluntary, community and statutory organisations. The total grant available is £125,000 (£45,000 per year for three years) and the provision will be delivered initially from 1 April 2015 to 31st March 2018. Decisions on the proposals will be made based on 20% value for money and 80% quality of service delivered.

From the information taken from the Neighbourhood Conflict Resolution needs assessment and Equalities Impact Assessment, Bristol City Council wishes to grant fund an organisation that works in the ways our residents have told us is best for them. We will therefore seek to fund organisations that can:

1. Provide a swift informal conflict management model where residents receive a named caseworker and continued updates on their case.

2. Take referrals from Bristol City Council services and external partner agencies, as well as self-referrals.

3. Bring parties in conflict together in a face to face meeting and with initial meetings completed in person.

4. Have a local connection to the City of Bristol as well as an in-depth knowledge of the needs of the residents.

5. Equip clients with the skills to handle future conflict.

6. Work towards the vision for a Restorative City and towards the vision of the Mayor.

7. Work with Avon & Constabulary’s Integrated Victim Care Service in cases where there is a victim and an offender.

8. Increase the number of BME and less heard communities engaging in restorative conflict resolution processes.

9. Develop a better understanding of restorative approaches at a community and practitioner level.

10. Create skills and training opportunities for residents of Bristol.

11. Encourage community engagement. 12. Provide additional opportunities for individuals or groups facing greater social or economic barriers.

13. Promote the use of conflict resolution services and restorative approaches in Bristol.

14. Train and support community champions in priority locations , Lawrence Hill, , , , , .

15. Develop protocols for referrals into substance misuse, mental health, and therapeutic services, where these issues become apparent in case management.

16. Participate and engage with processes such as Police Multi Agency Meeting (MAM), ASB Case Conferences, Hate Crime Case Review Panels (CSP’s) and the Restorative Bristol Board when required.

17. Participate in statutory safeguarding processes.

18. Collect, collate and share good quality and robust monitoring data on a quarterly basis.

19. Improve services based on feedback received from service users
