The defense has allowed only 21 rushing touchdowns dating back to 2012. It allowed just five in 2012, nine in 2013 and seven so far in 2014. At 92.2 rushing yards allowed per game, BYU ranks No. 7 in the country. • In the past nine seasons, BYU has finished ranked in the top 25 in various national statistical cate- gories 61 times on defense. Currently, BYU ranks in the top 25 in defensive rushing yards per game and in opponent rushing yards per attempt. • Lengthening the field. The Cougars have allowed just 11 rushing plays of 10 or more yards this season, ranking No. 1 in the nation.
