Jump on the 10:54 or 12:54 train to , on board you’ll be given lots of clues as to what can be found at each of the stations along the Valley whilst you enjoy a live performance on the train from The Kit Hillbillies... Bere Ferrers: , walks & play area Visit the Community Shop 10.00 - 12.00 (Saturday only) Locally produced bread, cheese and vegetables. Tea and cake stall, hand-made crafts and much more.

Walk and a pub lunch - there are many lovely walks in and around . Have a walk and then a pub lunch in The Olde Plough.

Bere Ferrers playing fields- at the bottom of the village, past the pub, are a great place for a picnic and somewhere for the kids to let off steam. There is a zip wire, play equipment and a barbeque you can use.

Bere Alston: pub, shops, post office & walks Dartmoor Sunday Rover - this is a combined ticket which allows you to explore the Tamar Valley and Dartmoor using the train and a network of buses.

Adult day ticket is £7.50, child £5, family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) £16.

From Bere Alston you could take the bus to Tavistock and explore this historic market town. Tickets can be bought at Plymouth station or on board buses. See www.journeydevon.info for more info.

Calstock: pub, shops, play area & walks Walk to Cotehele Quay - about a mile from station. The walk is clearly signposted and there is a map at the station. The walk follows the river until it heads into the woods, up one steep hill, then down to the Quay. The quay is free to visit and there is a licensed tearoom and a food stall selling pasties and ice creams. This is a great place for a picnic!

Walk and a pub lunch - walk around Calstock village, enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and enjoy a pub lunch in the Tamar Inn. There is an excellent play area for kids by the river and picnic tables nearby so you could always bring your own lunch!

Gunnislake: , shops, post office & walks Walks - the train arrives at the top of the village in Gunnislake so you need to walk down the hill. The post office has lots of information you can pick up on walks in the area, especially if you like a walk that’s bit more challenging.

The Rail Ale Trail - this booklet is a guide to local pubs along the Tamar Valley Line. Get 10 stamps in your booklet and receive a free t-shirt. Booklets can be picked up at Gunnislake Post Office.
