The program runs for approximately 8 weeks. This program includes character and leadership skills, health and life skills, arts, sports, and education.

Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center’s Social Communication Program 50 E North St, Buffalo, NY (716) 885-8318 This program is available to students who are age 5 through high school who have social communication deficits. The program uses a unique approach that combines both structured explicit teaching and student-centered activities, while incorporating gross motor and sensory experiences. Learn, Create and Perform A two-week ELA, Theater, and Art summer camp, July 10-21, 2017 (Monday-Friday) and runs from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day. The 5-week session, offers a specially designed curriculum for students who have experienced academic difficulties or have language based learning disabilities, including dyslexia, central auditory processing disorder, ADHD and ADD. Summer Program participants can be day students or live on campus and enjoy a full schedule that includes recreational activities on weekends and afternoons. This comprehensive summer social development program is open to children ages 7-12 with high functioning autism spectrum disorders. Children who participate in summerMAX@ASI will be randomly assigned to attend one of two five week sessions this summer. Session I will be conducted from end of June through end of July from 8:30am- approximately 3:50pm and Session II will be conducted from end of July through end of August from 8:00am-approximately 4:40pm. Scholarships are available This Summer Reading and Writing Camp provides two weeks of enriching experiences in reading and writing for students in grades 2-12. Schedule includes a one-hour reading camp, followed by a one hour writing camp. Students will be engaged in highly motivating small group activities (i.e. web quests, literature circles, readers’ theater, poetry jams) working with peers and with literacy interns. Interns are certified teachers who are near completion of the Masters in Literacy Education. Canisius College faculty will be supervising the camp experience.

Both of the above programs will operate daily in July and part of August from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; call or email for current dates. Community Connections is designed for children entering grade 1 through age 17 with social interaction difficulties related to Asperger’s Syndrome and high functioning autism. Summer Treatment Program (STP) is open to children entering grade 1 through age 16 with academic or behavioral problems or a diagnosis of ADHD. Financial aid is available but must apply by April 1.

Each week for five weeks, a certified NYS reading specialist will work one-on-one with each child, providing personalized reading and writing instruction to meet the child's needs. Sessions are 60 minutes in length and it is recommended that children receive a minimum of one session per week.

Miller Tennis Center www.millertenniscenter.com - under the “Juniors” tab for different programs 632-8600 Four tennis camps will be offered for ages 5-18 from June through August. There will be a Junior Excellence Tennis Academy and Junior Summer Camp that runs from 10am-3pm, Monday through Friday. The High School Drill Camp will run from 4-6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is an exciting program that brings the joy of playing soccer to players who have not traditionally had a place in the youth soccer system.

Buffalo Equestrian Center/ Therapeutic Riding Center 950 Amherst Street, Buffalo, NY (716) 877-9295 www.buffaloequestriancenter.org/summer-camp This horseback riding camp has five sessions. Each session will run from 8:30am– 12pm, Tuesday through Friday. Each session will feature activities for riders at the beginner and intermediate levels. Students may progress to a more advanced skill level as skills are mastered. In addition to group riding instruction, the program will also feature instruction on grooming and general horse care.
