2.1 Before you begin

2.1.1 Patch limitations

Patch removal The patch removal is manual. Patch distribution The patch distribution is not limited. Localization The patch has no impact on localization.

2.1.2 Prerequisites for applying patches

Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 1 must be installed on a node on the following updates are installed. • Experion HS/LS R400 server build installed with MLServer 2.0.0.3

Attention Ensure that the Masterlogic Server Channel is disabled the Experion Station before the patch installation.

2.1.3 Applicable nodes

The Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 1 is applicable for the following nodes. • Experion HS/LS R400 server

2.1.4 Compatible firmware

The following firmware versions are compatible. Firmware Version CPU 1.90 CPU Master 1.90 DBST 1.90 FENET 2.40 or 3.0

2.1.5 Problems resolved in this patch

The following PARs are resolved in this patch. Subsytem Description 1-L6VGJ3 MasterLogic When number of AI modules are connected, number of Interface BAD PV/LOOR and other alarms are huge. At some point of , because of the huge number of alarms, the forthcoming alarms are not raised to Experion from Masterlogic. 1-FEDUJF MasterLogic When the ML channel is disabled and enabled subsequently, Interface all the system alarms are displayed incorrectly as events in Event summary. 1-HWBGCY MasterLogic PLC id is not available in the system alarm raised for any Interface ML IO channel failure. As a result the information about the PLC in which the failure occurred is not available. 1-HWBG8Y MasterLogic Some of the MLDP-related events are not displayed with Interface description in Event summary. For example: Switch over, IP failure. 1-K2CQ0S MasterLogic Invalid data size error observed on deleting a point. Interface

The following are the known issues with this patch.

PAR Description 1-LQF8NX Error Indication: Refer to Description. Description: PLC time in MLPLC displays and point value stop updating till the server time matches PLC time. Recovery: Refer to Workaround. Workaround: Set the Experion server time ahead of time in PLC. This will enable RTC time updating in server and the point value will also be updated. 1-LRHLKF Error Indication: Refer to Description. Description: ML Channel displays Status as OK even though the LAN cables are removed. Recovery: None. Workaround: None. 1-LQF8UE Error Indication: Refer to Description. Description: After the switchover of servers, ML Channel fails for a short period of time (2-3 minutes). Recovery: After the failure, the MLChannel recovers on its own. Workaround: Refer to Recovery. 1-LLNSER Error Indication: Refer to Description. Description: In MLDP, if both the network cables from FENET are removed, the Event summary will generate two events for IP disconnection and PLC communication error. Recovery: None. Workaround: None. 1-LLNSCX Error Indication: Refer to Description. Description: When both the network cables are removed, few events do not have matching Condition and Value in Event Summary. Recovery: None. Workaround: None.

11 3 INSTALLING THE PATCH

3.1 Verifying the present version

If the node is on the following version, the node has the appropriate product version to install this patch. • Experion HS/LS R400

3.2 Installing R400 MLDP Patch 1

Attention • Ensure that the Masterlogic Server Channel is disabled at the Experion station before the patch installation. • In a redundant server, install the patch on the Experion backup server (server B) first. Perform the server switchover (manual failover). After completing the server switchover successfully, install the patch on the primary server (server A).

Perform the following steps to install Experion R400 MLDP Patch 1 on both redundant and non-redundant servers. 1 Log on to the system using an account that is part of both the Honeywell administrators group and the local administrator group. 2 Close all the running Experion applications. 3 Browse to the folder where you have extracted the patch , and double-click the Experion_HS_LS_R400_MLDP_Patch_01.exe file.

Note Click if the User Account Control dialog box is displayed.

The Patch Setup dialog box is displayed. 4 Click No to continue with patch installation. The Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 01 Installation page is displayed. 5 Click Continue to proceed with installation. 6 Click Finish to close the Installation page. 7 Enable the Masterlogic Server Channel.

Verifying the installed patch 1 Browse to the C:\Program Files\Honeywell\Experion PKS\ProductVersion.txt folder. 2 Verify the ProductVersion.txt for the following: Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 01 Version 400.1.71.70 installed If the above line is present, it indicates that the patch installation is successful. 3 Verify the version of MLPLCServer.exe, EPKSAPIHelper.dll, and Protocol.dll files. The version must be 2.0.0.4.

3.3 Files added or replaced by the patch

Attention The UTC offset for the timestamp noted for the files is UTC+05:30.

Attention • Ensure that the Masterlogic Server Channel is disabled at the Experion station before the patch uninstallation. After uninstallation is complete, enable the Masterlogic Server Channel. • In a redundant server, uninstall the patch on the Experion backup server (server B) first. Perform the server switchover (manual failover). After completing the server switchover successfully, uninstall the patch on the primary server (server A).

Perform the following steps to uninstall R400 MLDP Patch 1 on both the redundant and non-redundant servers. 1 Log on to the system using an account that is part of both the Honeywell administrators group and the local administrator group. 2 Close all the running Experion applications. 3 Browse to the C:\Program Files\Honeywell\Experion PKS\Install\Patches folder. 4 Double-click the Uninstall_Experion_HS_LS_R400_MLDP_Patch_01.exe file.

Note Click Yes if the User Account Control dialog box is displayed.

The Patch Setup dialog box is displayed. 5 Click No to continue with patch uninstallation. The Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 01 Un-installation page is displayed. 6 Click Continue to proceed with uninstallation. 7 Click Finish to close the page.

Verifying the uninstalled patch 1 Browse to the C:\Program Files\Honeywell\Experion PKS\ProductVersion.txt folder. 2 Verify the ProductVersion.txt for the following: Experion HS/LS R400 MLDP Patch 01 Version 400.1.71.70 removed

If the above line is present, it indicates that the patch uninstallation is successful. 3 Verify the version of MLPLCServer.exe, EPKSAPIHelper.dll, and Protocol.dll files. The version will rollback to 2.0.0.3.
