Day 1 Johannesburg / Private Reserves – Kruger National Park Accommodations: Option 1 – Mala Mala Main Camp - Sabi Sands Option 2 – Tanda Tula Safari Camp – Timbavati

Depart Johannesburg ORTambo Airport to the privat reserves of the Kruger National Park. To Mala Mala (Option 1), by lite aircraft flight direct to the private airstrip at the reserve. To Tanda Tula on scheduled SA Express flight to Hoedspruit Airport with driver transfer to the lodge ( about 30 minutes).

On arrival at the airports you will be met by your ranger for transfer to the lodge. Experience a night drive that brings you closer to the magic of the nocturnal wildlife, thriving under the clear, star studded sky while spotlights provide the opportunity to view the nocturnal wildlife. Back at the lodge enjoy the comforts of a log fire and sissling sosaties as tales of Old White Hunters and African myths are told.

Option 1 - Mala Mala Main Camp, Sabi Sands, South Africa

Arrival at the private airstrip, where your safari hosts are on hand to assist with luggage before proceeding to the lodge for check in.

The Lowveld is acknowledged to support one of the greatest diversities of mammalian species on the African continent. It is here, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, that the MalaMala Game Reserve is situated. The reserve straddles the perennial Sand River and includes a variety of habitat types; dense riverine forest, acacia-combretum bushveld, open grassland and rocky outcrops, each supporting different plant and animal communities. The ochre buildings with their thatched roofs, set among manicured lawns and blend harmoniously with the large shady trees.

The spacious Buffalo lounge displaying bronzes, works of art and animal trophies, leads onto an expansive wooden deck which provides an elevated view of animals, watering in the Sand River. Whether you prefer spending your time in camp doing some passive game viewing from the verandah or relaxing next to the sparkling pool with a drink in hand, personalized service is assured by a staff to guest ratio of three to one.

Breakfast and lunch are served in an attractive air-conditioned dining room overlooking the Sand River. Dinner, announced by the beating of African drums, is served under the stars in a reed enclosed boma, a tradition laid down at Campbell's first camp. Sitting around a log fire, enjoying MalaMala's venison specialties and sumptuous bush cuisine while sampling an outstanding South African wine, is yet another highlight of the MalaMala experience.

The accommodation at MalaMala Main Camp continues the African theme with spacious bungalows under thatch. Each of the air-conditioned rooms enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding bush and are equipped with "His" and "Hers" en- suite bathrooms, insect proof screens and top quality large twin beds. Individually decorated, they feature sets of animal or bird prints, complementing the attention to detail for which MalaMala is world famous.

Yet, despite all these comforts, MalaMala retains a camp atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. This phenomenal rate of

920 Oak Street Sugar Grove, IL 60554 www.safariline.net viewing success is directly attributed to the fact that MalaMala comprises 33000 acres or 16000 hectares of pristine game viewing land, making it the largest privately owned game reserve in South Africa, with human density and impact on the land being kept to an absolute minimum. Another reason is the unfenced border between MalaMala and the Kruger National Park, which allows herds of animals to migrate unhindered to the perennial Sand River which flows north to south through the MalaMala Game Reserve for 13 kilometres or 20 miles.

Option 2 – Tanda Tula, Timbavati, South Tanda Tula Safari Camp is owned and run by Don and Nina Scott, together with their incredible team of staff. Tanda Tula meaning ‘to love the quiet", is situated amidst 20 000 acres of bushveld adjacent to the Kruger National Park in the Timbavati Game Reserve and positioned amongst enormous trees on the banks of the Nhlaralumi Riverbed, in the heart of Big Five country. Visitors are welcomed into this picturesque camp which exudes “elegance with African roots”. Guests are immediately captivated by the down-to-earth atmosphere of this family home, as well as the charm and warmth of the people that live and work here. The camp is completely unfenced merging luxury with the natural environment.

The tented camp consists of just 12 secluded, luxury tents, each with a breathtaking view over the riverbed. The East African styled tents are the epitome of simple luxury, comfort and style mirroring the early tented camps of Africa. Each luxurious tent features its own en-suite bathroom, Victorian bathtub, outdoor shower and a spacious deck overlooking the riverbed and African bush. Family tents can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children sharing. There is a swimming pool overlooking the waterhole, a bird hide nestled under the trees, complimentary internet and wi-fi coverage in the main lounge area. Electricity and power are available with 220 v. converters supplied in each tent. Children are welcome from 8 years and older.

The Timbavati is known for its abundance and variety of African wildlife, including the Big five (, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino). Tanda Tula Safari Camp has some of the most highly trained guides and trackers in the region. Tailoring game viewing experiences, guides and trackers will offer informative, exciting and unique game viewing experiences while respecting the animals at all times. There is a maximum 6 per vehicle for game drives. Bush breakfasts are a superb way to end the morning game drive. Set out on the banks of the riverbed, our chefs prepare an extensive continental buffet and a cooked English breakfast feast. Lunches are set up in different locations in camp daily. Dinners are a social affair, set in various locations every night often getting closer to nature. Our guests are seated at one long table and are hosted by our staff, guides, managers and owners. Guided walks are between one and two hours and usually take place after breakfast. Your expert guide will lead you as you track game on foot and explore the African wilderness and learn more about the smaller creatures and flora of the region. We invite you to explore the Timbavati with us.

Day 2/3 Private Reserves – Kruger National Park Accommodations: Option 1 – Mala Mala Main Camp - Sabi Sands Option 2 – Tanda Tula Safari Camp – Timbavati

Awaken at dawn, accompanied by the early morning sounds and smells of the African bushveld, is an experience unique to early risers. This is often the best time for game viewing. Keep your camera ready! This reserve has the

920 Oak Street Sugar Grove, IL 60554 www.safariline.net big five and wonderful birdlife just waiting to be photographed. Walks through the veld with an experienced tracker and day and night-time drives through the veld in an open landrover are all included. In the evening, the fire roars, and laughter fills the air. But no more than a little walk away, the wind blows over the river. Suddenly the air is split by an elephant’s trumpeting. A primordial warped note of oldest Africa.

Day 4 Johannesburg / Departure

A dawn awakening for an early morning drive and final tour the reserve for a few more hours before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Proceed to the airstrip for your return flight to Johannesburg. Tour Ends.
