How did you come up with the name "The Quins"? Derived from the nickname Quincy, Jame's nickname from moving from Quincy to East Bridgewater. Started off as a joke, but it stuck.

How long have you been playing? How did you end up together in a band? As a group for two years. We've all been playing since we were little. Multi- instrumentalists. Quincy wanted to record, with the intention of finding a band. Jon and Tyler studied audio engineering. They offered Quincy studio time as part of their class project. Turns out everyone was a musician and had similar musical interests. Later heard about Robbie and asked him to join.

What do you love most about playing music? Music is creating something beautiful with sounds. When you can share the energy of your music with people, and they, in turn, give energy back to you, it's a beautiful exchange.

Short Description of the music that you do? Our music is a blend of all of our influences, including, rock, , reggae, and classic rock with a soulful twist that comes from the heart.

What makes your music different from other bands? We don't try to be anything that we're not, or fit into any particular mold. We do what we feel and stay true to who we are. We make use of musical education backgrounds to give the audience something that is a call-back to many of the classic rock greats but with our own personal style. We collectively have the ability to use interesting chord changes and sophisticated musical training to create a depth that makes our music interesting.

Do you have a slogan or catch phrases you use in the band? Favorite words? "A Quin is a Quin."

What do you want to make the audience feel? Alive. That way you feel when you get the chills from a song. We want to make our audience feel the way we feel when we hear music that excites and inspires us.

What color would you use to describe the band or your music and why? Purple. Because it's a perfect blend of blue and red, love and evil. And it's royal.

What are some of your own favorite song lyrics? Beatles: "She's the kind of girl you want so much it makes you sorry, still you don't regret a single day." Allman Brothers: "You are my blue sky. You are my sunny day. Lord you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way." Arctic Monkeys: "Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up, blinded by nostalgia? Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?"

What are some of the lyrics in your music, that tell people who you are or what you’re about? "It makes me feel like I'm some kind of foreigner. All this dirt underneath my nails, darling it never fails to remind me of who I was." "You roll through my head, you lay me in my bed, and I know that some day, you're gonna make it all right." "I tell you I love you, you don't want to know. I tell all your friends, but they're just part of the show."

Who are your musical influences? Stevie Ray Vaughn, , Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, , Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, , Sublime, , Nirvana, , , Foo Fighters, Black Keys, White Stripes, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Johnny Winter, , Al Green, Alabama Shakes, Allman Brothers, various others including, hip-hop, R&B and soul.

Do you have any awards or distinctions? In March of this year we won Album of the Year from the Limelight Magazine Music Awards and were nominated for Best Live Act. Have been covered by various area music industry bloggers. Associated with Midday Records in Providence, which supports and promotes us, and a number of other local up and coming bands.

Does your band stand for any particular cause? In addition to natural talent, and being self taught, we all had a lot of musical training and support growing up, so we promote young people in music. Specifically, The Filedheacht School, the music school in East Bridgewater, where several of us studied. We support and promote that school.

Who writes the music? Is it a collaboration? What is that process like? Most of the songs originated from stuff Quincy has been working for many years. But as the band has worked more together, we have evolved collaboratively and new songs are being developed on a collaborative basis. We get together and rehearse and the creative process happens.

When do you know you’ve got a good song on your hands? When we look at each other and say, Holy S**t! And it gets stuck in our heads and we can't stop talking about it.

What would be your ultimate musical dream come true? To go on tour and get better known. To be signed to a label and be able to support ourselves musically. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
