Construction Appreciation Camp Application Guide

Applicant must read this Guide carefully before completing the Application Form.

Organiser “Construction Appreciation Camp” (Appreciation Camp) is organised by the Construction Workers Registration Board under the Construction Industry Council (CIC).

Themes (a) By appreciating the projects constructed by their relatives, the next generation of construction workers is instiled in a more comprehensive and positive understanding of the construction industry through observing from different viewpoints and thinking from multiple perspectives. (b) Discover individual capabilities and learn to cooperate with and appreciate each other.

Overview Date: 12 August to 13 August 2019 (Mon to Tue)

Camp Site: Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village

Fee: Free of charge (Shortlisted participants are required to pay a deposit of HK$500 which will be refunded in full at the end of the event.) Quota: Around 30 pax

Language:

Target  Secondary school student (a holder of valid secondary school student card)  The applicant’s relatives hold a valid construction workers registration card

1 Information for Applicant and Supporting Documents required • Applicant should complete the entire application form and the “Applicant’s Health Declaration Form”. Please fill in “Nil” or “Not Applicable” where inapplicable. • A copy of the student card, Identity Card and other relevant supporting documents should be attached to the Application Form. • The organiser will shortlist participants based on the essay "My Most Appreciated Construction Project" in Application Form (III). Applicant may be invited to attend an interview for further assessment. • Shortlisted applicant will receive a phone call and an email notification. A deposit HK$500 shall be paid by the shortlisted applicant, either by post or in person to the CIC Service Centres, by a cheque payable to "Construction Industry Council". Please write the name of the participant on the back of the cheque. • The Secretariat will inform the applicant by email of the application result. Therefore, please ensure that a correct and frequently used email address was filled in. • CIC will award a certificate to participant of the Appreciation Camp. • Applicant should take care of his/her own safety and follow the instructions given by the instructors and safety guidelines throughout the event. • CIC will take photos during the event, and the photos may be used for future promotion purposes.

Information on the Application Form • Applicant must complete the Application Form and the "Applicant’s Health Declaration Form" and ensure that the information provided is correct and complete. The Application Form and supporting documents shall be submitted together in order to process the application. • Applicant is required to provide accurate and true information. Any intentional omission, false information or misleading statements may result in disqualification or termination of the application at any time. • The organiser may request other supplementary information to be provided by the applicant if necessary. • The organiser must be immediately informed in writing or by email of any changes to information such as address or telephone number after submitting the application form. • Application form and other documents submitted to the Organiser will not be returned. • Information provided by the applicant will be used for processing of application and related purposes. All documents obtained will be destroyed after use. • The decision of the Organiser shall be final.
