11TH ANNUAL MR. PENNSYLVANIA FOOTBALL VIRTUAL Awards Ceremony

MARCH 12, 2021 • 6 PM

Welcome Welcome to our Mr Pennsylvania Football Virtual Awards Ceremony. We thank you for viewing our presentation to honor Pennsylvania’s Best! With the loss of loved ones, businesses, and normalcy, this past year has been extremely difficult and challenging for all of us. Our student athletes, in all sports, were faced with something they never imagined would happen. Suddenly, there was uncertainty in their lives. The training and hope of participation in the sport they love was in doubt. Through it all, they have met the challenge with the help of their parents and families, coaches, and teachers. Mr. PA Football is a concept developed by the principals at SportsRecruiters, a service designed to connect high school athletes with college coaches. Its board of advisors is replete with former and current high school athletes and coaches, as well as respected business, civic and community leaders. Understanding the long and rich tradition of high school football in Pennsylvania, the organizers of Mr. PA Football have provided an opportunity to honor the top players in Pennsylvania through a unique awards process. The players were chosen by votes from football fans, sportswriters/sportscasters, and high school coaches around the state, each represented one-third of the votes. There were 724 players nominated this year in both categories. The voters were instructed to consider the following criteria: athleticism, performance, character, integrity, academics, sportsmanship, teamwork, and community involvement. PA joins sixteen other states that present similar awards annually. And following on the success of Mr PA Football over the last several years, we are proud to announce that the 7th annual Mr and Miss PA Basketball will be May 23, 2021. We hope you can join us for this great program. SportsRecruiters is pleased to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Mr. PA FB Foundation and Vickie’s Angel Foundation. We wish all of you the best, and we thank everyone who has particpated and supported our program. Be Safe! For the love of sports! Wayde and Ron Marsico

6 VICKIE’S ANGEL FOUNDATION

Vickie’s Angel Foundation was established by her husband Mickey Minnich, her two sons Michael and Jason; as well as many close family and friends in July of 2003. Vickie fought a courageous battle with cancer for five months, but became an Angel on May 21, 2003. The first walk was held the same year in October at New Cumberland Boro Park. We decided to use the word Angel because each night in April and May Vickie and I would play an Angel Symphony which was spiritually soothing. Each night we asked God to send one of his angels to heal Vickie, thus Vickie’s Angel Foundation.

The Mission Vickie’s Angel Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non profit with a mission of helping families fighting cancer who cannot pay their bills due to their cancer. Our goal is to take the financial worry away from the family so they all can focus on the cancer and not their finances. Vickie’s Angel Foundation is a temporary bridge to get the family from despair as to how they are going to pay their bills to where they can focus on Love, Faith and Hope, and curing their cancer. Our financial help is for both medical and non-medical expenses. Examples are rent/mortgage payments, car expenses, food expenses, house heating expenses, co-pays, medical premiums, and prescriptions. We help in blocks of three months at a time.

Our Goal We are a temporary bridge during a difficult time. We will work with families to help them achieve financial independence.

How to Apply for Financial Aid Contact the Vickie’s Angel Foundation office at (717) 774-3800 and ask for the Vickie’s Angel Foundation Financial Aid Application, or go to www.vickiesangelwalk.org} and download the application. Once the completed application is received, the review committee will call the family to discuss and review everything in detail, and then a determination.
