2021 DEW TOUR FACT SHEET

Dew Tour is an innovative contest series and content platform that brings together the world’s ​ best skateboarders, snowboarders, skiers, artists, brands and fans in a celebration of competition, culture and creators. Now in its 16th year, Dew Tour will include World Skate sanctioned men’s and women’s ​ skateboarding Street and Park competitions, serving as the only U.S. global Olympic skateboard qualifying events for 2021.

Dew Tour 2021 will take place in its new home in Des Moines, , which just completed its build of the ​ ​ ​ Lauridsen Skatepark, the largest in the U.S.

Date: May 20-23, 2021, on the North end of the , Grand Ave., Des Moines, Iowa

Tickets: Dew Tour has always been a free event open to the public. This year, due to the COVID-19 ​ pandemic, the event will offer free tickets online to a limited number of fans each day, to remain in compliance with state and local COVID guidelines. Details on obtaining free tickets is forthcoming and will be available on DewTour.com.

Additionally, a free Dew Tour festival will be spread out throughout the Principal Riverwalk area in Des Moines to create a large, socially distanced and safe way for fans to enjoy fun and free event partner activations.

Olympics: Dew Tour 2021 will host this year’s only global Olympic qualifying event in the U.S. for men’s and ​ women’s skateboarding Park and Street competitions, both as elite level Pro Tour stops. The Olympic qualification system is based on rankings maintained by World Skate, the sport’s International Governing Body.

Competition Individual: More than 300 of the world’s top male and female skateboarders are scheduled to compete in ​ individual Park and Street events for a chance to win the Dew Tour title, while earning valuable points toward their country’s Olympic skateboarding team. As in the past, Dew Tour competitors exemplify the best in each sport.

Venue: The Lauridsen Skatepark (pronounced LORE-ED-SEN), opening in May 2021, is a world class 88,000+ ​ square ft. skatepark located along the Principal Riverwalk in Des Moines. It is located in the heart of downtown on five acres at the northern edge of the Principal Riverwalk and just east of Wells Fargo Arena and Iowa Events Center. It was designed by renowned California Skateparks and has Olympic-approved street and park courses. Polk County, manager of the Lauridsen Skatepark, along with Catch Des Moines (the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau), Greater Des Moines Partnership, Skate DSM ​ ​ (local non-profit), Subsect (local skateboard shop) and Polk County Iowa combined efforts to build this world-class skatepark.

Livestream/Telecast: Dew Tour will be livestreamed in its entirety on DewTour.com, Facebook Live, ​ YouTube and other major platforms for a total of 25+ hours of LIVE video. Additionally, more than four hours of Dew Tour coverage will air on NBC and NBCSN this summer.
