PROFILE

Dr. Bakhtavar received the BTech, MTech degree in Engineering in 2002 and 2004, respectively; furthermore, he received his Ph.D. degree (in 2009) in Mining Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology. His research interests include the application of Operations Research (OR) in Mining Engineering, environmental assessment of mining impacts, mine closure and reclamation, and mining risk assessment. He has published more than 60 papers in Journals and Conferences proceedings. He has also gotten some significant experiences while teaching several courses, researching, and working in various mines in relation to solving their critical problems. He is working on some projects to develop multi-objective stochastic programming models in the cases of the combined open pit and underground mining and environmental impacts of mining activities (especially in waste rock ).
