Congressman Eric Cantor

Eric Cantor is a results-oriented leader in Congress dedicated to helping solve problems for America's families. In the wake of the 2010 midterm elections, Eric was elected by his colleagues in the House to serve as the Majority Leader for the 112th Congress. Eric has served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing 's 7th District, since 2001.

A true friend of , Eric is well known for his support of America’s only democratic ally in the Middle East. Named one of the Forward 50 by The Forward for the last five years, Eric is a leader of pro-Israel policies in the House. In August of 2010, he led his 5th Congressional delegation of Freshmen Republicans to Israel.

Since entering Congress, Cantor has earned a reputation as a consensus-builder respected on both sides of the aisle. featured him as an emerging leader among an impressive group of "Young Guns of the House GOP."

In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Eric formerly served as the Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, a group of members dedicated to studying the threat of international terrorism on the United States.

Eric is a lifelong resident of the Richmond area where today he and his wife, Diana, make their home. They have three children: Evan, a fourth year student at The University of Virginia; Jenna, a sophomore at the University of Michigan; and Michael, a senior at Deep Run High School in Henrico County.

Eric got his start in politics at a young age, as a driver for his predecessor, Congressman Tom Bliley, during his first re-election campaign. Eric has an undergraduate degree from George Washington University, a law degree from The College of William and Mary and a master's degree from .
