TROOP 20 SUBSIDY POLICY All trips are designed to be net zero cost (meaning participants pay for the trip ex any Babcock Awards).

Wrangell St Elias is the largest Natl Park featuring 9 of the 16 tallest peaks in North America, along with vast glaciers, ice fields, forests, volcanoes, wild rivers, tundra, gorges, and virtually all Alaskan land species. The adventure begins in the historic town of McCarthy for three days in the front country , Packrafting, and exploring. From there, fly by bush plane to the backcountry for four days in the Nizina River / Skolia Pass / White River region of the park.

Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America’s premier High Adventure base, challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. The Troop's '20 trip was cancelled due to Covid and has been rescheduled for a ten-day trek starting June 15, 2022. To 2022 reserve a spot email and send a deposit of $500 to Jason Roney. 2021 / 2022 Other Proposals

The White Mountain National Forest in eastern New Hampshire and western Maine ranges from mountainous hardwood forests to majestic alpine peaks. Like many events in the Covid era, details and dates for this backpacking trip remain TBD. Trip Leader: Paul Titterton

The eighth Troop 20 Grand Canyon Trip welcomes all Scouts and family members. Raft all 280 miles of the Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park and the Navajo, Havasupai and Hualapai Reservations in Arizona. Trip Leader: John Maurus

We have multiple weeks set aside for Deschutes River – that could include a Boy Trip (or two) and a Girl Trip. As of now, Troop 20 Girls are still on the fence for Deschutes OR a 'Drive To' Destination. They are considering a Keweenaw Peninsula adventure that incorporates multiple activities: Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Sea Kayaking, Fishing, and Hiking.
