BERGEN GOES TO BROADWAY 2017/2018 SEASON Our Bergen Goes to Broadway series is pleased to announce its exciting 2017/2018 season with the opportunity to attend the following outstanding Broadway productions! Because of the popularity and the high demand for tickets to these performances, the due dates for payment are already upon us. Please join us for all performances or choose those that are most appealing to you. Tickets are limited and are open to the entire Bergen Catholic community. Checks should be made out to Bergen Catholic and sent to the attention of Barbara Peraino. Our opening shows, Come from Away, and closing show, Dear Evan Hansen, have already sold out! However, we are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the following production that is about to take the Broadway stage by storm as well as the continuing smash hit, School of Rock! The Band`s Visit - Thursday, January 4th 2018. Dinner at Tony DiNapoli and transportation is included in the $120.00 cost of the trip. Payment is due by September 10th. “Some shows are so full of heart and so overflowing with integrity — of talent, of skill and of purpose – that a critic is torn between singing its praises from the rooftops and wanting to protect something rare and fragile. Even when, truth to tell, a great show is usually a tough one as well, able to withstand the pressure of raves and the demand to sacrifice a little bit of proximity to reach a wider audience. That was true of Rent, and Spring Awakening and, of course, Hamilton. -

Mr. Brotebeck is also the Artistic Director of the Okoboji Summer Theatre in Okoboji, Iowa, where he has directed I Ought To Be In Pictures, A Grand Night For Singing, And The World Goes ‘Round and The Spitfire Grill. [00:00:35] Thank you again for coming on behalf of the 5th Avenue Theatre we're really excited to be here and thanks to The Seattle Public Library for hosting us. This is our second event like this. We're calling them community conversations. Our first Community Conversation was last season. During our run of the Hunchback of Notre Dame and we had an amazing space here. Looking at musical theater and deaf audiences so I'm excited to be continuing community conversations tonight. [00:01:06] Talking a little bit about our production of comfortable way and its connection to the northwest and people who actually live through those stories. So hopefully this is something that you come back for in the future we hope to do community conversations for each of our upcoming shows. If not here at Seattle Public Library at other great partners. We have such as the Northwest African American museum. I think we have one coming up for any. So keep your eyes and ears out for that. These really are events that are meant to create intersections spaces for dialogue and spaces for us to tell stories to each other and spaces for us to understand the stories that we're putting up on stage and how musicals actually do influence our lives and intersect with our daily life. -

Annual Review 2011- 2012
ANNUAL REVIEW2012 2012 was a phenomenal year for the Globe In an Olympic year packed with events throughout the capital, Globe to Globe, our contribution to the London 2012 Festival and the Cultural Olympiad, distinguished itself by its sheer scale, variety and creative ambition. It brought a huge new audience to the theatre and created a wonderfully festive multilingual showcase for Shakespeare, the Globe and London. The festival was recognised in January 2013 with a rare special award from the Critics’ Circle. Our main theatre season, which marked the triumphant return of Mark Rylance and of Original Practices to the Globe, garnered awards and achieved excellent attendance figures. But this was a big season for artistic activity beyond Bankside too, with two West End transfers, a much more extensive touring programme and international premieres of our productions on screen. All this earned us the ‘London Theatre of the Year’ award from The Stage. We are pleased to report that these achievements did nothing to compromise our educational and other activities. This was another ambitious year of teaching and public events and of developments in print and digital publishing. 2012 also brought enhancements to our exhibition and tour and saw the steady WELCOME! expansion of our retail, catering and hospitality operations. But perhaps most excitingly of all, following decades of planning and a period of intense fundraising, work began on the construction of our indoor theatre, now named the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. All this was achieved without government funding and in a climate of financial austerity. ‘ The Globe to Globe season was a one-off, once-in-a- lifetime event that changed the cultural landscape of globe to globe London theatreland in every sense for six weeks last summer. -

Often our tickets are being marketed on secondary ticket websites before the operator of the website has even purchased tickets – and they are selling at prices far above the price you will pay through whartoncenter.com. Purchasing tickets to Wharton Center events through another source might result in paying too much for your tickets or paying for tickets that are invalid. If there is a problem with your tickets, you may not be able to receive help from Wharton Center’s Ticket Office as there will be no in-house record of your transaction. In addition, we are unable to contact you if there is a change in performance time, traffic notices, etc. To avoid being ensnared by unscrupulous ticket resellers: • Bookmark our website, whartoncenter.com for ticket and show information. • Sign up for our eClub to receive information directly from Wharton Center. We urge you to protect yourself by purchasing directly from the official source for Wharton Center tickets: at whartoncenter.com; by phone at 1-800-WHARTON (1-800-942-7866); or at the Auto-Owners Insurance Ticket Office at Wharton Center.
