Monday 3 April 2017 Sightseers taking risks on damaged roads Council urges motorists to travel only if necessary Council is urging motorists not to be on the road unless their trip is critical. “While we are working hard to get out there and assess our roads, there are many roads that we have not been able to access,” said Director Engineering David Oxenham. “Some of the reports we are getting are that sightseers are taking risks on roads with major damage and landslips. In other areas, they are getting in the way of the rubbish trucks trying to clear the streets of household waste and flood debris. “The slips on Tomewin Road are still moving, so, please, if your trip is not critical stay off the roads.” Below is the information we have to date on our roads network.
