OAKLAND NOTES  The Oakland Athletics are on a season-high tying three-game losing streak (also April 14-16 and April 28-30)…have now lost five of the last seven and seven of the last 10 games…are 7-28 (.200) against the Yankees since 2008, which is the worst record by an team over that span…are 1-3 on this six-game homestand against Los Angeles (1-2) and New York (0-1).  Tyson Ross allowed a career-high tying 11 hits (also April 28, 2012 vs. Baltimore), including a career-high three home runs (previous: 1, seven times)…is 0-4 with an 11.42 ERA (22 er in 17.1 ip) in four starts against American League East teams compared to 2-1 with a 1.82 ERA (5 er in 24.2 ip) in four starts against everyone else.  Daric Barton (2 for 4) snapped his 0 for 10 streak with a double in the fifth inning.  Josh Donaldson (2 for 4) snapped his 0 for 11 streak with a single in the fifth inning.  Josh Reddick (1 for 4) hit a in the fourth inning, his 12th of the season…is batting .266 (21 for 79) with 17 runs, eight home runs and 16 RBI in 21 games in May.  Jemile Weeks (1 for 4) is batting .333 (11 for 33) in seven career games against the Yankees.

NEW YORK NOTES  The New York Yankees are on a three-game winning streak…snapped their season-high tying three-game road losing streak…hit three home runs and are now 24-11 when hitting one or more home runs compared to 0-10 when they do not hit a home run…are on a seven-game winning streak in Oakland and have won 11 of the last 12 contests at the Coliseum…are 1-0 on this nine-game road trip to Oakland (1-0), Los Angeles (three games) and Detroit (three games).  Ivan Nova is 3-0 with a 4.26 ERA (12 er in 25.1 ip) in four starts on the road compared to 2-2 with a 6.46 ERA (22 er in 30.2 ip) in five starts at home…is now 9-0 with a 3.35 ERA (29 er in 78.0 ip) over his past 12 road starts…the streak is one win away from tying the longest road winning streak by a Yankees pitcher since 1995 (Clemens, May 26-Sept. 19, 2001; Pettitte, June 20, 2003-May 3, 2007).  Robinson Cano (1 for 5) hit a home run in the fifth inning, the 150th of his career…is batting .337 (28 for 83) with 14 runs, five home runs and 15 RBI over his past 22 games.  Derek Jeter (0 for 5) struck out three times, his most strikeouts in a game since he also struck out three times May 17, 2011 at Tampa Bay…had struck out a total of three times in his previous eight games.  Mark Teixeira (2 for 5) hit a two-run home run in the third inning, his sixth of the season…five of the six home runs have come on the road.
