Shannon A. Davis

With a mission for the academic success of all students in , Shannon A. Davis has made it her personal goal to build confident learners, build self-esteem, foster the school community, and to make a difference in every student she encounters. Born and raised in Tallahassee, , and a student of Leon County Schools herself, Shannon graduated from Godby High School in 1988. She went on to receive an Associate of Arts degree at Tallahassee Community College and a Bachelors in Elementary Education at . After teaching for eighteen years at both Fort Braden School and Gilchrist Elementary School, she went back to FSU to earn her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Before graduating, Shannon became a faculty administrator at Florida State University Schools while also teaching an education course at FSU. She returned to Leon County Schools in 2011 with a wealth of leadership experience and a passion to go into school administration. Shannon married her high school sweetheart and will soon be celebrating her thirty-first wedding anniversary. She is a mother of two young adults. Shannon is a highly motivated advocate for students and families throughout Leon County where she plans to serve the rest of her career in education. It is her mission to assist families in meeting their basic needs and giving them the support to raise healthy, educated children.
