Lot Description Reserve 1233 Cyprus Under Richard 1st – By Geo. Jeffrey, O.B.E., F.S.A. – London 1973 second edition 45.00 Hardbound with dust wrapper. – 186 pages. Exc. condition. Richard was married in Cyprus. The foreign sources of information of the adventurous progress of the Third Crusade, whilst giving due prominence to the important figure of Richard Coeur de Lion, as the protagonist of the great epic, are more concerned with the events which took place in the Holy Land than with the incidental occupation by the Anglo-Normans. In endeavouring to realize the circumstances of the first European occupation of Cyprus, la Vie Feodale de la Noblesse of the period must be described in the light of research carried on by innumerable students of mediaeval history during the past half Century: Violett le Duc, Rey, Schlumberger, and a host of others. This book will fulfil its purpose if it serves as a reminder of those curious and interesting associations which link the beautiful island of Cyprus with England. 1234 Cyprus The Sweet Land – By Patroclos Stavrou – Second edition – Filled with photographs, 34.00 some in colour – Hardbound – Very good condition. 1235 Footprints in Cyprus – An illustrated history – Edited by Sir David Hunt – Second edition 30.00 1984 – 300 pages – Paperback – Many photographs, some in colour. – Very good condition. 1236 World Armies – By John Keegan – 1979 – 843 pages – Large folio size – Hardbound with 50.00 dust wrapper – Covers many armies of the world. – Very good condition. 1237 Excerpta Cypria For Today – A source book on the Cyprus problem (Edited by Andrew 40.00 Faulds M.P.) – First edition London 1988 – 224 pages – Paperback – Very good condition. 1238 Benjamin Disraeli – Lord Beaconsfield – 1929 – 366 pages (pages 326-366 cover Cyprus and 40.00 The Treaty of Berlin). – Hardbound – Very good condition. 1239 Cyprus, from the earliest times to the present day – By Franz Georg Maier – Translated 24.00 from German to English– First edition 1968 – Hardbound -174 pages – Very good condition. 1240 Grivas – Portrait of a Terrorist – By Dudley Barker – First edition 1959 – Rare – 202 pages – 30.00 Hardbound with dust wrapper – Very good condition. 1241 The Commonwealth KGVI Catalogue – 18th Edition –2000 –286 pages – Hardbound. 24.00 1242 Cyprus Narrow Gauge – By Hugh Ballantyne (Series editor Vic Mitchell) – Published 2007 - 30.00 This book is about the Cyprus Government Railway. – Full of black & white photographs. 1243 The National Geographic Magazine – July 1993 - The National Geographic Magazine – 26 13.00 pages related to Cyprus, with many Cyprus photographs. – Very good condition. 1244 Levkosia The Capital of Cyprus – By Archduke Louis Salvator of Austria – With 15 engravings 18.00 by the author. – Reprinted from his original account of a visit to the island in 1873 – Published 1983 – 80 pages – Hardbound with dust wrapper – Excellent condition. 1245 Through Cyprus with a Camera in the autumn of 1878 – By John Thomson – Volumes I & II 50.00 complete – Published in 1985 – Second edition – Includes 59 plates – Hardbound with dust wrapper - Very good condition. 1246 Excerpta Cypria – Materials for a History of Cyprus – Translated and Transcribed by Claude 125.00 Delaval Cobham, with an appendix on the bibliography of Cyprus. – First Edition Published in 1908 – This Edition Published in 1969 – 523 pages – Hardbound – Excellent condition. 1247 Historic Cyprus – By Rupert Gunnis – First Edition 1936 – Includes folding map of Cyprus – 55.00 493 pages – Hardbound. 1248 The Painted Churches of Cyprus – By Andreas Stylianou & Judith A.
