NHCASA board member Chuck Turbiville passed away October 20, 2018. Chuck served on the NHCASA board from 2010 until his death. Though he was a very busy man, serving as mayor for the City of Deadwood and as state representative for Lawrence County, he still made time to attend board meetings and CASA events. 35 CASAs has served 86 children from 54 families through advocacy efforts so far this year.

The Cost of CASA Advocacy for ONE Child: For an abused or neglected child, a CASA volunteer is someone who listens. Someone who reaches out to  $2,000 = 1 year teachers, social workers, parents, counselors,  $1,000 = 6 months caregivers, and anyone else who can meet the child’s  $500 = 3 months needs. Someone whose sole mission is to help clear a  $175 = 1 month path out of the complex, over-burdened child welfare  $50 = one visit system and into a safe, permanent home.
