5. PRAYER AND HELP NEEDED NEW

Ferntree Gully Church member, Leanne, has been living in a Caravan Park and along with other tenants, has found herself in a difficult situation following the sale of the park. The residents would greatly appreciate your prayers. They have been given until end of November to find alternative locations for their relocatable homes, and threatened with going to VCAT and losing more money. They are exhausting the possibilities and many of the 200 residents are unemployed or elderly. Leanne herself has found accommodation, but is unable to move her home and is urgently trying to sell it. So please pray for these people in their difficulties, and if you are able shift Leanne’s mobile home for her and store it while selling, or are interested in it yourself, please contact her through https://www.facebook.com/rabbit1843 or email [email protected]

6. EAST PRAHRAN SDA CHURCH COMMEMORATES THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION THIS WEEKEND

To commemorate the impact that Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation had on Christianity, Dr Peter McGowan is presenting a series of 5 sermons at the East Prahran SDA church, 8 Wynnstay Road, at 11 am on the following dates: August 5, August 19, September 2, September 30, October 21.

7. “WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…” THIS WEEKEND

Invite your friends to a 6-week evangelistic series in Melbourne CBD on 12 different topics such as "What the Bible Says About Truth," "What the Bible says About Experiencing Peace," etc. 26 August - 30 September 2017 from 10:15 am - 12:15 pm every Saturday. 8. EVANGELISTIC SERIES – THE BIBLE – IS IT RELEVANT TODAY? THIS WEEKEND

Commencing Friday night 7:30pm September 1, Pastor Rod Anderson will be presenting a series of six lectures/presentations over six weeks entitled “The Bible - is it relevant today? This series which begins by addressing the key question "Is the Bible relevant today? and then the "why" it is so badly needed in our failing culture. If you have friends, family members or Bible study contacts that you want to encourage on in their walk with Jesus Christ or you are praying they will make a decision to follow Christ, then this series is for you. Each session will rivet the listener to their seat and free study materials and resources will be available at the conclusion of each presentation. These series of meetings along with the follow up group studies and Bible studies are being sponsored by the Greenvale Church. Please prayer for us as we reach out and in to our community. Location is Highgate Recreation Reserve Function Room, 229 Grand Boulevard Craigieburn, Registration commences at 7pm.

Melbourne Asian Seventh-day Adventist Church (MASDAC) has vacated its premises at 43 Ashmore Road, Forest Hill and is now meeting at its new church facility at 22 Jellico Drive, Scoresby.

11. BIBLE WORKER FOR WARBURTON CHURCH

12. ADVENT BRASS BAND AT EAST PRAHRAN ON OCTOBER 7

The Advent Brass Band will host the Sabbath School Program and Divine Service at the East Prahran SDA Church on October 7 starting at 9.45 am. There will be a fellowship lunch after the Church Service.

13. SUMMER CAMPS SPONSORSHIP 2018

VicYouth have had requests for eight children from the community to attend the Summer Camps in 2018. If you are willing to sponsor a child, donate to this mission opportunity, or want more details, contact VicYouth.

14. ADRA APPEAL OCTOBER 2017

“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.” 2 Corinthians 5:14 The Adventist church around the world is like a family. To help grow that family, you have the opportunity this year to make a real difference with the ADRA Appeal. The ADRA Appeal is more than just door-knocking. There are so many things you can do to raise money and awareness about ADRA’s work in Australia and around the world. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we are compelled by love to serve others and help those in need experience a life of love and transformational change. It is possible to make the world a brighter place. By taking part in the ADRA Appeal this year, we can be a light in our community. It’s our chance to let the world know that we care! Greenvale Church is doing a fundraising drive for our new church building. Delicious Mangoes from Katherine Northern Territory will be delivered to your church by courier. 21. FUN MUDDER

Do you want to make a difference to people in need, and have stacks of fun at the same time? If so, Fun Mudder is for you. Fun Mudder is a mud filled, fun-filled, obstacle course race that will be held on Sunday October the 22nd at Mt Cathedral, 140 Granite Park Place, Buxton for people aged between 10-18 years old. The Fun Mudder Event, an initiative of ADRA in Victoria and VicYouth, is helping to encourage young people to care for and support the less fortunate by raising funds for the annual ADRA Appeal which supports local ADRA projects in Australia as well as overseas. The highest fundraiser will receive 50 % sponsorship towards their next ADRA Connections Trip in 2018 (must raise over $1000 to be eligible). You can register as an individual, but if you are in a Pathfinder Club - why not get the whole club involved. The winner will be announced at the VIC Youth Rally @ Nunawading Christian College on October 14. Pathfinders who compete will be specially recognised @ the Fair/Rally Day on November 19. 22. YOUTH RALLY IN CHRIST ALONE

When: October 14th @ 10 am Where: Nunawading Christian College Speaker: Lachlan Campbell Lunch will be provided. Come and join us at the October Youth Rally at Nunawading Christian College. Our guest speaker is Lachlan Campbell who is currently the Lead Pastor for Landsborough Adventist Church and is preparing to launch a new church on the Sunshine Coast. He lives on the Sunshine Coast and will be found either surfing, playing touch football or listening to some Jazz. Above all he loves hanging out with his wife Cathy (Chaplain at Noosa Christian College) And serving God. Lachlan is about planting churches and reaching unchurched communities.

24. SUMMER CAMP STAFF APPLICATIONS ARE OUT NOW!!

Summer Camp Staff Applications are out now! VicYouth is seeking volunteers for staff at our Howqua Summer Camps in January 2018. As part of this team, you will be caring for young people, providing them with life long memories and ultimately giving them every opportunity to have an encounter with Jesus. And we can guarantee that you yourself will be impacted by this experience. Summer Camps are a powerful outreach and typically a highlight of the year for those who attend. Heaps of young people commit their lives to Christ each year. Being on staff at the camp makes you a part of the change in someone’s life!
