What is the Burro Run Contest? What is the Miner’s Triathlon Contest? Sign up for the annual BURRO RUN! Participate or Spectate!! It’s a rootin’ tootin’ good time for all! The contest is open to participants Sign-ups for the annual Miner’s Triathlon next to the Popcorn 18 years and older (must show proof of age). Race begins at 11:30 Wagon at the top of town- 18 YRS or OLDER ONLY! The Miner’s a.m. at Main Street Stage. Anyone who wishes to participate must Triathlon is a three part contest testing your strength and enter their name in a drawing. Ten (10) people will be chosen to ability to be a Calico Town Miner. Participants must sign a participate. An ENTRY FEE of $10 will be collected from the names waiver. Miner’s Triathlon – Station #1: Rock Pulling at 12 p.m. drawn. Cash Prizes will be given in the following order: 1st Place- the Livery Stage. Participants have 60 secs to roll a large $50; 2nd Place-$30; 3rd Place-$20. Start: All participants will start at the sound of the gun, obtain a oversize boulder the farthest distance. Miner’s Triathlon – bedroll and saddlebag, and tie them to their burro. Station #2: Muck Raking at 1 p.m. across from the Mystery Station 1: All participants will wash face, unroll their bedrolls, lay Shack. Participants have 60 seconds to shovel as much gravel down on them, get up, repack and retie their bedrolls to their burro. into the ore cart as possible. Miner’s Triathlon – Station #3: Station 2:All participants will take one black silver ore sample Cliffhanger on the Livery Stage at 2 p.m. Participants will Station 3: All participants will exchange their ore sample for a claim sign and ore bag compete against each other in a tug-a-war style event. Station 4: All participants will collect as close to 5 1/2 lbs. of silver- colored ore samples as possible and place in ore bag. They will then dig a hole deep enough to plant their claim sign so it does not fall over. Station 5: All participants will register their claim and receive their claim certificate. FIRST ONE ACROSS THE FINISH LINE WINS!!!
