Music in the film:

The film is essentially a musical for under fives, with the odd bit of plotting and action thrown in. For some visual examples of the musical numbers, see this site's galleries.

Composers:

As will be noted above, did mostly their own composing and lyrics, with the occasional vocal contribution from cast or a voice in the recording studio (Carolyn Ferrie, for example, does the voice for Mrs Bingle's Theme).

As a result, pointers and links on this site's main page to information about the movie also serve as pointers to the Wiggles as composers.

CD release:

It was inevitable, given the rampant merchandising surrounding the film's release, that a CD would form a part of the 'must have' package for under fives.

24. Wiggles Interactive (with ‘install’ instructions inside)

The US CD release stuck with the international title, and omitted the interactive element: Lyrics:

The lyrics for the opening and closing songs over head and tail credits are easily found on the internet, as are the lyrics for all the other songs heard in the movie.

But this site traditionally publishes the songs used to open and wrap up a movie, and so here they are:

Head Lyrics:

(In the original domestic version, the show begins with Wally the Great - Tony Harvey - trying to prove to the Magic Club President - Norry Constantian - that as the great grandson of Waldo the Magnificent, he still has his family's magician chops, but inevitably he mucks up the three rings trick and indulges in a slapstick fall. The President suggests practice, but Wally yearns for the special wand on the President's desk.

The President points out the wand won't help him if he can't help himself. "You must learn that anything can happen, but you have to make it happen! That's why I'm presenting the wand to the winner of the magic competition, tonight!"

Jimbo the Juggler - - arrives with the posters for the magic competition, and advises that Roland the Remarkable - Dale Burridge - is waiting to see the President. The President unfurls the poster, and Wally learns registration closes at 6 pm, bumping his arm in the process. Roland arrives with a sinister flourish, telling Wally that the competition is for real magicians:

"You needn't worry. I'll take good care of Waldo's wand after I win. You can come and watch if you like… but Wally, Wally … (gesturing to Wally with his finger, so Wally comes closer) …take a tip. Don't embarrass yourself by trying to perform tonight. After all, I am Rrrroland the Rrremarkable, and you are … well, you …" (Roland flicks his cape as he walks past Wally).

Wally gives Roland the finger and leaves, and then as we see him outside riding his bicycle, the song and head credits begin …

Hey there Wally, you've got to move along Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally, keep on going strong You've got to ride your little tricycle, just keep on pedalling and a-pushing Your feet keep going round in circles, as you ride along …

(Wally rings his bell as he rides)

Hey there Wally, you've got to move along Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally, keep on going strong I'd like to be a great magician, Yeah (bell ring), aah, I only need a magic wand Oh, I hope that I will find one, as I ride along … (bell ring, duck/horn noise)

Hey there Wally, you've got to move along … Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally …keep on going strong …

Hey there Wally, you've got to move along … Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally …keep on going strong … (bell ring, duck/horn noise)

(The music fades down as Wally rides into the distance, and then we're with Mrs Bingle - Joanne Samuel - knocking on the door, and being greeted by Murray Wiggle - Murray Cook, the orange Wiggle)

(In the international version, the Wally song, with Wally on bike, comes first, and the scene with the President comes after the scene of Mrs Bingle with the Wiggles. Also the reference in the lyrics to a tricycle is altered to a bicycle). Tail credits:

The film ends with the big surprise birthday party for Dorothy, which naturally turns into a big song and dance routine - "Let's have a party" - featuring many of the characters seen in the film, including Wally doing tricks, Mrs Bingle, friendly pirate Captain Feathersword - Paul Paddick - Henry the Octopus (Donna Halloran beneath the costume) and Wags the Dog (played by both Paul Paddick and Paul Field beneath the costume in the circus scene).

Eventually the camera pulls back to a wide shot, to see the and dancing throng, including a number of children, and then fades down to a night exterior of the red car and circus tent. The Wiggles, with a pyrotechnic look and Catherine Wheel effects, appears above the tent. As the image fades to black, a medley begins, with Dorothy starting off the proceedings:

Dorothy: Heeeee, let's dance everybody

Male voice: Dorothy, Dorothy, would you like to dance with me? Dorothy: I'd love to … Male voice: Dorothy, Dorothy, would you like to dance with me? Male voice (off): What do you do first?
