  • Lawatan PM Ke Sabah Untuk Selesai Isu Politik Negeri Sebelum Bubar Parlimen Mstaronline Februari 13, 2013 Oleh MAZWIN NIK ANIS

  • Sabah BN Must Overcome Voters' Unhappiness, State Leaders Say
Sabah BN must overcome voters’ unhappiness, state leaders say Malaysian Insider October 07, 2012 By Ida Lim KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 — The Sabah government needs to find out why voters surveyed last month are dissatisfied with it, especially the economy, and work to improve their services, say Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders from the coalition’s key votebank. A Merdeka Center survey released on Friday showed that 57 per cent were dissatisfied with Sabah’s economic performance and only 56 per cent of Sabah voters were satisfied with the state government, a six per cent drop from 62 per cent in November 2009. The country’s easternmost state has been described as BN’s “fixed deposit”. “I think the only way to solve all the problem, BN Sabah should work smart and consider what (are the) people’s problem, what people need,” said senior Umno backbencher Datuk Bung Moktar Radin, adding that the BN goverment “should do more” to develop the state. But Bung Mokhtar said the state government cannot deliver everything, pointing out that it was the same for other states and even United States President Barack Obama has been criticised by his own people. “What I can see state government is hardworking, of course not everything they can deliver,” the Kinabatangan MP told The Malaysian Insider. “The people, they know how to see you, they know how to judge you. We cannot hide anything,” he said, when commenting on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman’s ratings. The survey showed Najib’s ratings remaining stable at 75 per cent, but Musa’s fell from 60 per cent in November 2009 to 45 per cent in September, suggesting the ruling BN will be faced with some hurdles in its stronghold ahead of elections soon.

  • Continue Rotation System for CM's Post, Says PDS (NST 10/04/1999)
10/04/1999 Continue rotation system for CM's post, says PDS PENAMPANG, Fri. - Kadazandusun-based Parti Demokratik Sabah wants the rotation system for the Chief Minister's post to be continued. Its president and former Chief Minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok said it must be remembered that the system was given prominence in the BN election manifesto. "I stand by the manifesto of the Barisan Nasional," Dompok told a news conference after announcing his decision not to quit politics at his residence last night. He had declared prior to the March 12-13 State election that he would quit politics if he failed to defend the Moyog seat. Dompok, who was in the 10th month of a two-year term as Chief Minister, lost to Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun of Parti Bersatu Sabah by 4,388 votes. Prime Minister and BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad had recently said that it was up to the people of Sabah to decide whether or not the rotation system should continue. Following the statement, several State BN leaders had said they were in favour of scrapping the system. Under the system, the Chief Minister's post is rotated every two years among the Muslim Bumiputera, Chinese and non-Muslim Bumiputera communities. When the BN took over the State Government in April 1994, the first to be appointed Chief Minister was Tun Sakaran Dandai who was succeeded by Datuk Salleh Tun Said when the former was made Yang di Pertua Negeri in December 1994. After Salleh completed the Muslim-Bumiputera two-year term, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, who is Sabah Progressive Party president, was appointed Chief Minister as the Chinese quota.

24/09/1998 Malaysians urged to treasure peace and harmony KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Everyone in the country - Malaysians and foreigners - must treasure the peace and harmony the nation continues to enjoy, social worker Datuk Robert M.S. Phang said today. He said everyone must hold fast to these if they did not want to see panic, chaos, fear and threat to public order and national security. Phang was among 66 persons who placed a full-page advertisement in the New Straits Times and Berita Harian today congratulating the participants, organisers and volunteers of the 16th Commonwealth Games Kuala Lumpur '98, and pledging support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Phang said all 66 persons were from Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan and indicated that there could be more such advertisements of support. He said he was moved by the success of the Games and recent developments following the economic problems and sacking of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president to place such an advertisement. He said people did not want a situation similar to what happened in Indonesia where there were riots and looting during the days before Suharto stepped down. In an interview today, he said it was necessary to have only one leader at the helm to steer the country to economic recovery. Phang said Dr Mahathir had a proven track record and deserved the support of the people to get the country out of the economic problems it was experiencing. "A boat can have only one captain.

We’re not as credulous as KJ, RM2.6b scandal not over yet MalaysiaKini.com Apr 19 th , 2016 Yoursay YOURSAY | ‘No, the issue of the so-called donation is far from resolved.’ Khairy: With Saudi minister claim, RM2.6b donation issue resolved Odin Tajué : Ministers Khairy Jamaluddin and Azalina Othman Said, one can understand why your offering of obsessive loyalty to PM Najib Razak but one totally fails to see how people of your position could have zero respect for the intelligent section of the populace and pretend to be oblivious of what are so obvious and demand absolutely no abstract thinking. Let us get the easier thing out of the way first. A sum of US$3.51 billion had been diverted to a party that was not the rightful payee. This fact was known not exactly a minute ago but at least days, if not weeks or months or years, ago. Yet until today, there does not seem to be any action taken to file a report of grand theft or to institute any other appropriate action to initiate the recovery process. One is forced to conclude that none of these actions has been taken because the diverting of the money was intentional. Now to the supposed confirmation by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir of the so-called donation. Adel's confirmation is of no value whatsoever. It is a farce. Reason No 1 : He has never been privy to the transfer of ±US$681 million to Najib's personal bank accounts. Reason no 2: His confirmation contradicts what he has said just a little more than two months ago, and it was made after his meeting with Najib.
