Banknock, Haggs & Longcroft Community Council Minutes of Meeting Thursday 25th January 2018 – Banknock Community Centre Present: D Henderson; G Cowan; M Henderson; L T Murphy; A Tierney; C Wilson; Cllr J Blackwood; Cllr N Harris; Cllr F Collie; PC J Millar; PC C Stevenson 1.0 Apologies 1.1 S McArthur; Cllr P Garner 2.0 Police Report 2.1 For the period of January 1st – 25th 2018 - Five crimes reported – 1 x Section 38 Offence (Domestic) – Detected; 1 x Assault/Section 38 – Detected (male also apprehended on Warrant); 1 x Assault/Theft – Enquiry ongoing, several witnesses to be traced; 1 x Assault to Injury – Enquiry ongoing, suspect to be traced; 1 x Vandalism – Enquiry ongoing. No additional crimes of note. 2.2 Speeding monitored at Cumbernauld Road and Glasgow Road Longcroft – no speeding detected. 2.3 Parking at both the Co-op and Mango restaurant continue to be monitored – no offences over last month. 2.4 Several calls received in relation to Road Traffic issues in Glenview Avenue/Hollandbush between 20th/21st January as drivers were reported to be disobeying diversions and moving cones. Falkirk Council were contacted in relation to this matter. 2.5 Complaint made re parking issues at Rowan Drive – police have agreed to monitor 3.0 Minutes of AGM 3.1 Nominations of Chair; Vice Chair; Acting Secretary and others were noted and agreed. 4.0 Matters Arising 4.1 Several members of the public came to discuss the recent Road Traffic issues at the A803 Road which was closed due to emergency repairs to a sewage pipe. Issues with the diversion signs and drivers ignoring signs resulted in traffic chaos in the Glenview Avenue/Hollandbush areas which were enhanced by snow and ice. 4.2 DH advised he had contacted Scottish Water and Falkirk Council requesting full details of the works carried out – but had only received a short email. 4.3 Cllrs J Blackwood and F Collie had been contacted by residents and had also contacted FC Emergency Roads Dept instructing extra gritting. 4.4 Agreed complaint should be made to Scottish Water and Class ONE Management re the handling of the situation as some damage was done to local property and also lessons have to be learned for the future and that FC should be contacted regarding replacement of Grit bins within the village. 5.0 Secretary’s Report 5.1 9 Planning Obligations as follows; - 1) 14 bedrooms above Mango restaurant and extension to function suite; 2) Applicants D Kerr for Court of Lawfulness to install Cash Machine at Petrol Station; Under new management and to install luminated signs for Spar shop; 3) Steading at Auchencloch Farm, Coneypark; 4) Demolition of Underwood Lockhouse and rebuild public house with extension for function suite; 5) Installation of Luminated sign at property of G C Marshall site, Kilsyth Road; 6) Application to build one of 6 houses at Cloybank Estate and to build driving range 5.2 Letter received from A Donaghy regarding closure of Kilsyth Road by Scottish Water 5.3 Funders fayre being held on Tues 6/3/17 at Grangemouth – agreed M Henderson would attend and also FC Workshop at Camelon. 6.0 Treasurers Report 6.1 Treasurer advised balance is same as previous month and was concerned audit for previous year had still not been done – agreed to contact B Pirie FC and chase up accounts. 7.0 Banknock Community Hall 7.1 S McArthur and D Henderson have started dilapidation survey. DH had photographs of hall and surrounding areas of concern that will be passed to FC – to ensure hall is wind & Water tight before pass over of Hall. 7.2 Cllr Collie stated FC were awaiting quotes for repairs to the damaged to wall at entrance to Car Park and that leaves from car park had been cleaned up. 8.0 Cumbernauld Road – Speeding 8.1 FC have agreed to reduce speed limit on Cumbernauld Road. Secretary will contact residents regarding same. 9.0 Bus turning at Coneypark 9.1 Cllr Blackwood is pursuing matter with Falkirk Council. 10.0 Local Issues 10.1 Fencing at back of residents properties has been replaced at Auchencloch Drive re last month’s complaint from MC – Cllr Blackwood was involved. 10.2 Cllr Blackwood will continue to pursue the issue of the damage done at Coneypark Crescent by large vehicles including buses. 10.3 Wall at rear of BT building in the Haggs -bulging fencing in place – agreed to pursue matter. 11.0 Next Meeting 11.1 Next meeting will take place in Banknock Community Hall at 7.00pm on Thursday 22nd February 2018. .
