Most Puissant Companion James A. Kirkbride served as General Grand Master of the General Grand Council during the 1987-1990 Triennium. He appointed Most Illustrious Companion Gaines S. Greene to serve as General Grand Marshal and Companion Glen E. Hamlyn to serve as General Grand Chaplain during the same Triennium of the General Grand Council. In August of 1899, the Grand Council of Kansas journeyed to the top of Pikes Peak and there made a deposit which was opened in 1999. A similar deposit from the Grand Councils of Colorado and Kansas was then made and it is intact and the place may be observed by a trip to the summit of the peak. The Grand Master of the Grand Councils of Kansas and Colorado, by direction of these Grand Councils, makes an annual inspection of the deposit.

Colorado now has 18 Chartered Councils with a membership of 701 (34 plurals) as of June 30, 2019.

MASONIC CHRONOLOGY Names of meetings and dates of Bodies composed exclusively of Masons.

The ordinary calendar, or vulgar era, is not generally used by Freemasons in dating their official documents. Each body has one peculiar to themselves, differing according to their various Rites.

ANCIENT CRAFT MASONS in all parts of the world add 4,000 years to the Common era, calling it Anno Lucis, or Year of Light: abbreviating it A.L. (This fact has a symbolic reference, not because they believe Freemasonry is, but that the principals and light of the institution are coeval with the creation) A.F.& A.M. as well as F.& A.M. Lodges hold ‘Communications.’

ROYAL ARCH MASONS date from the building of the second Temple, 530 B.C. Their style is, therefore, Anno inventionis or A.Inv. – in the year of discovery. Royal Arch Chapters hold ‘Convocations.’
