Flights

The airport Rostock- is served with several direct flights from several German and some European cities. As there is currently no good transport connection between this airport and the City of Rostock (bus line 127), we recommend you to fly to or instead where the next big international airports are located. From Berlin and Hamburg you can travel to Rostock by train (German Rail).

Ferry

Upon arrival at the Rostock Sea Terminal you will find the bus No. 49 whose city stop is at “Kröpeliner Tor” (ride about 30 minutes).

Transport in Rostock

There is a well-established network of public transport routes in Rostock. Most of the city’s districts can be easily reached by , bus, city train or ferry during the day. Thus, everyone can easily do without a car. If you use the public transport system every day, it might be profitable to buy a monthly ticket. Scientists who plan to stay for one year minimum could enter an even cheaper subscription – either online or at the subscription centre. Annual tickets are also offered by the customer centres.

The city train (S-Bahn) - There are two city train routes in Rostock at the time being: Rostock main station – Warnemünde and Rostock main station – Rostock Seaport Although city trains belong to the route network of the Deutsche Bahn, fares and carriage conditions of the local transport service RSAG apply here.
