The Vintage Course – 7,363 Yards / Par 72 The Vintage is patterned after the classic courses built at the turn of the century. On one hand, there is a distinct natural feel to the layout with holes carefully routed on existing terrain leaving the heavily wooded site as undisturbed as possible. At the same time, much of the feature work utilizes odd, sometimes geometric shapes and quirky features that are distinctively old. Revered courses such as the National Golf Links, Fishers Island, Maidstone, Chicago Golf Club, and Garden City served as inspiration for creating a course that gives a distinct nod to the days of old. The natural terrain is frequently contrasted by striking, abrupt mounds, deep pots, square edges, ridges, blind shots, long and thin bunkers near both small and huge greens with wicker basket pins. These features resemble the hand-work of the past and provide a welcome relief from the many cookie-cutter modern courses that dominate golf today. The course plays over some 250 acres with plenty of elbow room and heavy vegetation creating a core golf feeling that is easily walked.

Sunday 24th

 Breakfast at the resort  Golf, round 2 on the Sand Belt Trail course  Afternoon & Evening at leisure - Optional dinner in Haikou City

The Sand Belt Trail Course – 7,297 Yards / Par 72

Sandbelt Trails is patterned after the exceptionally strong courses of the Australian Sandbelt. Courses such as Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath, and the Metropolitan Club serve as inspiration for a course that features large bunkers dominated by high sand flashes and crisp, thick lips that rise above fairway and green surfaces.

Some of these bunkers are formal, surrounded by turf, many transition to native jungle vegetation without a clean edge creating a much more natural landscape.

Large greens feature plenty of movement and square tees add to the distinct look.

The predominant tree is eucalyptus in keeping with the Australian inspirations. The gently rolling sometimes flattish terrain has been capped with plenty of width to provide vast playing surfaces and alternative angles of attack from its sweeping fairways

Like the other courses, it sprawls over a huge expanse of land yet features intimate green to tee connections promoting an easily walkable experience.

The ‘Double Pin’ Par 3 Course - 1,921 Yards / Par 54

This collection of 18 par 3 holes incorporates a unique and distinct feature; two pins at each green.

Greens are designed to offer two options; one easier and more accessible location and one much more difficult.

An arboretum style landscape will provide an enjoyable atmosphere full of colourful trees and flowers, complementing the blue skies and clean air of Haikou.

Players of all levels will be able to play the course to what best suits their mood or skill. Families and beginners to tour pros will all find a quick round to complement their days play or practice

Tuesday 26th

 Breakfast at the Resort  Golf today on the Signature course “Blackstone”  Free to make your own dinner arrangements at your convenience

The Course7808 Yards / Par 73 Voted best championship course in Asia; venue for the annual World Ladies Championship and the biennial World Celebrity Pro-Am. The crown jewel is the Blackstone Course, a spectacular 350 acre core golf course that weaves through a striking landscape of mature trees, thick jungle vegetation, and expansive lakes and wetlands. The dominating site characteristic is the bed of lava rock which was capped with material located 25 miles away. The naturally rolling terrain sees dramatic elevation change and great care was taken to find as many natural holes as possible to avoid cutting the rock and to preserve the magnificent Lychee trees. The lava rock base has been incorporated as an integral element of the design by weaving irregular lines of turf and rock, eliminating the typical hard line edge of most courses. Adding to the look are wild, irregular bunker edges and transitional sand edges that effortlessly work into native lava rock. Fairways sweep across the landscape conforming to the natural terrain with an emphasis on surface drainage rather than contained low drain inlets. The result is a magical blanket of turf with soft irregular edges and a lack of hard lines as there is only fairway cut (no rough, even at bunker faces). The course begins in the more heavily wooded portion of the property with a wide variety of hole lengths and natural amphitheatre green settings. The final holes play in and out of a hub of raised terrain that allows spectacular views of the closing holes with little need to move. Easy green to tee relationships and easy terrain render the course very walkable. Difficult, long (at over 7,800 yards) and with risk/reward opportunity at the final holes, this course should prove to be one of the premier tournament courses in the world today. Great effort was made to provide not only a great tournament golf course but extensive planning and construction has created support facilities capable of hosting big events with the greatest of ease.

Wednesday 27th

 Breakfast at the Resort  Today is your final round of golf to be played on the Lava Fields course, recently named the best course in China  This evening join the group for a “Farewell Chinese Banquet” in Silver Moon Restaurant

The Lava Fields Course – 7,475 Yards / Par 72 While similar in many respects to the Tournament Course with its irregular lines of turf and wild bunkering, Lava Fields presents far less tree cover. There is a feel of expanse that creates a big look and the black rock and sand dominate the landscape like no other course in the world. At 7,400 yards, it too is capable of hosting significant events.
