Travel Information Leaflet Travel Information Leaflet Sanderson House, Jubilee Way, Grange Moor, Huddersfield, WF4 4TD Sanderson Associates (Consulting Engineers) Limited are committed to operating an affective Travel Plan. The Sanderson Associates Travel Plan is an evolving strategy that seeks to encourage sustainable travel and the use of alternative modes of transport to the single occupied car, by staff and visitors to Sanderson House, which is located in Grange Moor, Huddersfield. The Travel Plan should benefit everyone, including employees with health improvements and petrol cost savings, the company with a reduced demand for car parking spaces and their associated cost and the environment in reducing air pollution and traffic congestion. This Travel Information Leaflet has been produced to inform all staff and visitors of the facilities that are available within the vicinity of the site that should help us all travel in a more sustainable manner. Bus facilities Bus stops are located on Liley Lane (B6118) immediately north of the Jubilee Way junction, which are within easy walking distance of Sanderson House (150m). Further bus stops are located on Wakefield Road (A642), which are also within easy walking distance (200m). By using the above bus stop reference numbers, this free service will provide information on the next bus that will be arriving at the stops and any other nearby services. ‘Yournextbus’ can be accessed via the web, text message and by WAP/mobile internet via the following web-link: www.wymetro.com/yournextbus/Howdoiuseyournextbus.htm Season tickets are available from WY Metro that provide a substantial discount compared to the purchase of day tickets, with further information available at the following web-link: www.wymetro.com/TicketsAndPasses/MetroCards Sanderson Associates are also considering joining the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network, which would entitle staff to participate in the Corporate Metrocard scheme that provides a further 15% discount on season tickets prices. Rail facilities Mirfield Railway Station is located approximately 6km to the north of Sanderson House. Unfortunately there are no direct bus links to the station. However, the station can be used as a park and ride stop, with direct services to Huddersfield and Leeds available that provide links to the wider rail network. Huddersfield Railway Station is located approximately 9km to the west of Sanderson House and is accessible in approximately 30 minutes by bus (Bus service No. 231, 232 & 241). Further rail service information including timetable, mapping and special offer information can be found via the following web-links: www.northernrail.org www.tpexpress.co.uk www.nationalrail.co.uk www.yorkshiretravel.net www.wymetro.com/TrainTravel Cycle facilities Cycle parking is provided at Sanderson House in the form of Sheffield cycle stands located in the secure on site car park, which is monitored by CCTV and is available for use by staff and visitors. Shower and changing facilities are also provided on site for staff and visitors. The use of these facilities is monitored regularly to ensure that they are adequate and well maintained. Sanderson Associates are also investigating other measures to encourage cycling, including a Cycle Loan Scheme and obtaining discounts from local cycle shops. Walking facilities All roads immediately surrounding the site have footways and are lit by street lighting. However, on the wider network the footway provision is less consistent due to Sanderson House’s rural setting. Therefore, staff and visitors who choose to walk to Sanderson House should take care, particular when walking in the dark on rural roads and paths, where it is recommended that high visibility clothing is worn. All staff and visitors should consider car sharing and should consider registering on the West Yorkshire Car Share website at www.wycarshare.com By registering on the website this will increase your chances of matching up with other potential car sharer from outside of the company, so you increase your chances of finding a potential car sharer and you can begin saving money!     Our ref: 2387/21 Figures for incidents of drink spiking in your region over the last 5 years (year by year) I would appreciate it if the figures can be broken down to the nearest city/town. Can you also tell me the number of prosecutions there have been for the above offences and how many of those resulted in a conviction? Please see the attached document. West Yorkshire Police receive reports of crimes that have occurred following a victim having their drink spiked, crimes such as rape, sexual assault, violence with or without injury and theft. West Yorkshire Police take all offences seriously and will ensure that all reports are investigated. Specifically for victims of rape and serious sexual offences, depending on when the offence occurred, they would be offered an examination at our Sexual Assault Referral Centre, where forensic samples, including a blood sample for toxicology can be taken, with the victim’s consent, if within the timeframes and guidance from the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine. West Yorkshire Police work with support agencies to ensure that all victims of crime are offered support through the criminal justice process, including specialist support such as from Independent Sexual Violence Advisors.     THE HISTORY OF CLARENDON VILLAS FOREWORD Whilst researching the material for my first ‘House History’ project, ‘Highfield House & Sowood House’, (2010), I collected a great deal of information concerning other neighbouring land and buildings. After a great deal of thought I decided it was a shame not to make use of this material. The result of this decision was the production of two more Local/House History publications. My second project ‘The History of the South Ossett Triangle’ is a potted history of the land shaped like a triangle, bordered by three roads, now called Horbury Road, Manor Road and Sowood Lane. On this land was built the Parish Church, the Vicarage and the two Schools. This third project I have called ‘The History of Clarendon Villas and Greystones House’. These two new books (along with the Highfield and Sowood House one) complete a Trilogy of publications covering all the large houses as well as the Ecclesiastical Buildings on this area of land, built in the 19th Century. Clarendon Villas, is situated on Horbury Road, up the next driveway to Highfield House & Cottage. (Access is now from Vicar Lane) The bottom of the garden of Greystones House backed onto the garden of Highfield Cottage. The daughter of the family who lived in part of Highfield House, Gwen Hopkins, married John Judge and they bought No 18b (which included the garden) of Greystones. My parents allowed Gwen to come into our garden and pass through our garage in order to visit her parents, thus saving about a half mile journey!
