Safari rates include

• All Outfitting and Government fees and Royalties: Wildlife Conservation Fee, Hunting License Fee, Government Trophy Handling, Company Trophy Handling, Concession Fees, Community Development fee and one Firearm License. • The services of a complete safari crew, including Professional hunter, trackers, cooks, skinners, stewards, tent attendants, and their necessary assistants. • Provision of fully equipped first class camp, including mosquito proof tents, daily laundry service, beds, comfortable mattresses, camp furniture, water filters, cooking utensils, fridge, freezer, HF and VHF radio communications and satellite telephones, Satellite Wi-Fi in each main camp. • Supply of quality food, alcoholic beverages (in moderation), soft drinks, bottled water. Special dietary requirements will be taken into consideration, provided advance notice is given. Champagne is not included. • Preparation of trophies (skinning and salting) in the field including transportation to airport. • Processing, documentation and crating of trophies for exportation, and delivery for international departure. • Provision of a comprehensive medical chest, including Snakebite serum. • The provision of transport; one modern 4 x 4 safari vehicle per professional hunter and the necessary load carriers for equipment, provisions, trophies and staff. • The skinning and preservation of trophies in the field plus dipping, handling, crating and documentation. • A company representative to assist you in the Airport upon arrival and departure.

Safari Rates do NOT Include

• Firearm license of US $250 per firearm for 2nd and 3rd firearm. • Trophy fees for Game taken or wounded and lost (including anti-poaching and community contribution). • Transfers to and from camp as listed above. • Hotel accommodation and expenses before, during and after the safari days. • Commercial airline flights, visas, airport tax and items of a personal nature. • Gratuities to the staff and the professional hunter, to be paid in cash (please note that USD bills from BEFORE the year 2006 are no longer accepted in Tanzania), or by previous arrangement by bank transfer. • Cost of transporting equipment and personnel to places beyond our concessions for specific purposes as requested i.e. photographic safari expeditions, foot safaris. • Airfreight of trophies from Tanzania to the final destination.

Trophy fee deposit & Payment of Fees

• Full payment for your safari, together with the Trophy Fees deposit, must be received 60 days prior to the start date. If full payment has not been received when you arrive in Tanzania, you will not be permitted to begin your safari. This deposit will be credited towards the trophies taken on your hunt, and any balance is settled at the end of the safari. The deposit required for: Safari Duration 5-Days 10-Days 14 Days 21-Days 28-Days Deposit $5,000 $10,000 $30,000 $35,000 $40,000. • Trophy fees, including community development fees, are applicable to all Game shot, including wounded and lost Game. • At the end of your safari, the final invoice reflecting all expenses will be handed to you or will be send to you by email as soon as possible. If any refund is applicable it will be paid to in cash or by bank transfer. • Trophies will only be shipped after full payment has been received • All payments are payable in cash or wire transfer. Personal checks will not be accepted without prior arrangement. (please note that USD bills from BEFORE the year 2006 are not accepted in Tanzania).

Bird Hunting Safaris and Falconry

1. Limited Bird hunting on a Big Game Hunting license - On any hunting safari five of each species of game bird per license can be included upon request on your regular hunting license. Trophy fee varies between $20 and $45 for each bird hunted under this option.

2. Supplementary Bird hunting license in combination with a Big Game Hunting License - Maximum 50 birds per license per day, but not more than ten of any particular species may be hunted, The bird hunting license cost $950 per hunter and bird trophy fees apply.

3. Exclusive Bird hunting Safaris - We now offer exclusive bird hunting safaris in Masailand. Maximum 4 clients per Professional Hunter, per package and maximum 50 birds per client per day, but not more than ten of any particular species. The best time for wing shoots is July to mid November onwards. Daily rates: USD $800 per person per day, minimum 4 persons per group for 4 days. Rates do not include firearms import permits ($250 each shotgun), $50 per day Permit fees ($200 minimum), plus $100 per hunter day Conservation Fee, transfers to and from camp $400 per trip, cost of shotgun shells. Bird trophy fees of between $20 and $45 per bird not included and 18% Vat on Government fees not included.

Licensing regulations and restrictions

• The hunting season in Tanzania is July 1 to December 31. • The Tanzanian Wildlife Department regulations permits the hunting of Lion and Leopard on a 21-day license only under the following limitations: 1 x 1 -1 Lion and 1 Leopard permit. 2 x 1 -The clients must share 1 lion and 1 leopard permit. 2 x 2 -Each client will have 1 lion and 1 leopard permit. • On 2x1 hunts in Masailand, the clients must further share 1 Lesser Kudu, 1 Gerenuk and 1 Oryx. • On 3x2 and 4x2 hunts in Masailand, the clients must share 2 Lesser Kudu, 2 Gerenuk and 2 Oryx. • The minimum legal length for Leopard is 1.30 meters (51.2 inches) from tip of nose to base of tail. • The minimum legal size for Elephant is 160 cm length (63 inches) of tusk or 20kg weight (44.09 pounds). • The minimum legal age for Lion is 6 years old. • The Tanzanian Wildlife Department allows the following game to be hunted strictly on a 21-day license: Elephant; Lion; Leopard: Oryx, Gerenuk, Lesser Kudu, Greater Kudu, Sable, Roan, Eland, Sitatunga, Ostrich, Klipspringer, and Porcupine. • Minimum caliber for dangerous game is .375” (9.3mm). Handgun hunting is strictly forbidden. • Bow Hunting is legal in Tanzania. The requirements for bow hunters are the same as those for regular hunters, although trophy fees are slightly higher. If interested, please inquire.

Firearms and ammunition

• Each hunter may legally import three rifles and one shotgun into Tanzania and a maximum of 100 rounds of ammunition per rifle. • We recommend medium calibers for all the plains game and most hunters bring medium caliber magnums like 300 Winchester, 300 Weatherby, 338 Winchester etc and sighted in at 200 or 250 meter. • We highly recommend use of only premium quality ammunition like the Barnes X series and Trophy Bonded Bear Claw for both the medium and heavy calibers.

• The minimum caliber for dangerous game is .375 however for those who can shoot the 416 calibers comfortably and accurately, we highly recommend the 416 Rigby or Remington or Dakota. • The heavy caliber should be sighted at 100 meters with either of the above mentioned soft point ammo as well as Flat fronted solid ammo like Trophy Bonded Sledge Hammer and the flat fronted Barnes banded solids. The ratio 2/3 soft to 1/3 solid ammunition is advised.

Booking Conditions

• A deposit of 50% of the safari rate is required to confirm the booking.

• Balance 50% is due 60 days prior to hunt together with the applicable Trophy fee Deposit.

• Game Trophy Fees and all Government Royalties charged will be those applicable to the year the safari is taken regardless of what is quoted on the initial contract. Invoices and quotes are subject to change based on any change in Government fees and/or Game Trophy Fees.

Cancellations

• With any cancellation occurring prior to 90 days of the start of the safari, the deposit will be re-funded only if the safari is re-sold and a 15% administration fee will be deducted.

• Any cancellation occurring within 60 days of the start of the safari no refund will be granted save for any Trophy Fee Deposit payment made. It is highly recommended to get coverage of Trip Cancellation Insurance.

• Force Majeure, (meaning acts of God, explosion, floods, tempest, fire or accident, war, threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance, Government intervention, weather conditions or other untoward occurrences). In the event of Force Majeure, the company is entitled to vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement. Refunds in this case are solely to the discretion of the company, although all endeavors shall be made to refund where possible.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that you obtain the following types of insurance:

• Accidental Death and Disability • Loss of personal effects • Emergency Evacuation. • Medical • Trip Cancellation

Please make sure your policies are up to date and you are fully insured before you travel.

Liability

• It is very important to understand that hunting is a sport that involves inherent risks, especially big game hunting can be dangerous.

• Although every possible care is taken to safeguard you and your property, Michel Mantheakis Safaris Ltd accepts no responsibility for any accidents, injury, illness or fatality nor loss or damage of client's property incurred during or arising while on safari.

• The company accepts no responsibility for any changes in Government fees or policies. We will however, endeavor to notify you as soon as possible, should this occur. No guarantees are made for any animal not obtained during the hunt as our PH's adhere to the principals pertaining to Fair Chase and ethical hunting, as well as the regulations as stipulated in the Wildlife Conservation (Tourist Hunting) Regulations of Tanzania.

SAFARI PACKAGE DESCRIPTIONS MASAILAND - Lake Natron West GCA & Longido GCA 5-Day Roberts and limited plains game package. This is based on a limited 10-day license for Roberts Gazelle, Thomson Gazelle, Eastern White Bearded Wildebeest and Zebra and Olive Baboon. Grants gazelle can also be added in this package for an upgrade fee of $2,000.

10-Day Buffalo package. This hunt is for 1 Buffalo, Roberts , Grants Gazelle, Thomson’s Gazelle, White Bearded Wildebeest, Zebra, East African , Olive Baboon and Warthog (not so common). Cokes Hartebeest can be added for an additional cost of $3,000 plus trophy fee. This hunt can be turned into a spectacular adventure by doing it all on a foot safari in the mountains, followed around by the camp loaded on Masai Donkeys, escorted by the camp staff and Masai warriors for an additional $500 USD per day, minimum 3 days.

14-Day Full Masai Plains game Package. This package, based on a limited 21- day license and is a collectors delight for Lesser Kudu, fringe Eared Oryx, Gerenuk, Grants Gazelle, Roberts Gazelle, Thomson Gazelle, Chandlers’ Mountain Reedbuck or East African Bohor reedbuck, East African Impala, East African Eland, Kirks Dik Dik, Steinbuck, Spotted Hyena, Striped Hyena, 2 Zebra, Ostrich, Golden Jackal or Side Striped Jackal, Common Duiker, East African Bushbuck, Suni and Olive Baboon, 2 White Bearded Wildebeest (Eastern and/or Western, depending on season sometimes both in November and December) Cokes Hartebeest and Buffalo limited quota and seasonal. Harvey's Red Duiker requires special arrangement and additional cost.

14-Day Leopard and Full Masai Plains game Package. This package is based on a 21-day license and includes Leopard, 1 Buffalo, Lesser Kudu, fringe Eared Oryx, Gerenuk, Grants Gazelle, Roberts Gazelle, Thomson Gazelle, Chandlers’ Mountain Reedbuck, East African Impala, Kirks Dik Dik, Steinbuck, East African Eland, Eastern White Bearded Wildebeest, (Western White bearded Wildebeest available in july and November December), Spotted Hyena, Striped Hyena, Zebra, Ostrich, Golden Jackal or Side Striped Jackal, Common Duiker, East African Bushbuck, Suni and Olive Baboon. Cokes Hartebeest are seasonal and limited quota.

14-day Leopard - limited plains game package for those who already have all the special masai species and only want to come back for a big Masai Leopard. This hunt is based on a limited 21-day license for Leopard, 1 Buffalo, 2 White Bearded Wildebeest, 2 Zebra, 1 East African Impala, Grants or Roberts Gazelle, Thomson’s Gazelle, 1 East African Bushbuck, East African Impala, Kirks Dik Dik, Bushpig, Ostrich, Side Stripped or Golden Jackal, Spotted Hyena and Olive Baboon.

21-Day Leopard - Full bag. This is a more realistic time frame to maximize your chances in collecting the most species available on the hunt and to be more selective on trophies quality. Available on this hunt are Leopard, 2 Buffalo, 2 White Bearded Wildebeest (Eastern and/or Western, depending on season), 2 Zebra and 1 of each of the following: Lesser Kudu, fringe Eared Oryx, Gerenuk, Grants Gazelle, Roberts Gazelle, Thomson Gazelle, Chandlers’ Mountain Reedbuck, East African Bohor Reedbuck, East African Impala, Kirks Dik Dik, Spotted Hyena, Striped Hyena, Ostrich, Golden Jackal or Side Striped, Cokes Hartebeest (seasonally available and limited quota), Common Duiker, Suni, East African Bushbuck, Klipspringer, Ratel, Civet cat, Serval cat, Genet cat, and Olive Baboon.

WESTERN TANZANIA - Lukwati GR South 10-Day Buffalo hunt. This is one of Tanzania’s top Buffalo hunting area and you can hunt 2 Buffalo, plus 1 of each of the following; Zebra, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Warthog, Southern Impala, Bush pig, Common Duiker and Yellow Baboon.

14-Day Western Species. This special hunt is based on limited 21-day license with no cats or Elephant. Available game to hunt is East African Sable, Roan, Greater Kudu, Livingston’s Eland, Buffalo, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Defassa Waterbuck, Zebra, Common Reedbuck, Chobe Bushbuck, Southern Impala, Warthog, Klipspringer, Bush Duiker, Grysbok and Yellow Baboon.

14-day Leopard, Sable, Buffalo and Western plains game. This is based on a limited 21 day hunt for Leopard, 2 Buffalo, only 2 of the greater antelope (Sable, Roan, Eland, Kudu), plus one of each of the following: Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Defassa Waterbuck, Zebra, Common Reedbuck, Southern Impala, Warthog, Bushpig, Chobe Bushbuck, Grysbok, Bush Duiker, Klipspringer and Yellow Baboon. Elephant can be added to this package at no extra cost but if taken trophy fee and success fee applicable. Please inquire.

14-Day Elephant. This is based on a limited 21-day license for Elephant, 2 Buffalo, only 2 of the greater antelope (Sable, Roan, Eland, Kudu), plus one of each of the following: Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Defassa Waterbuck, Zebra, Common Reedbuck, Southern Impala, Warthog, Klipspringer and Yellow Baboon. Leopard can be added to this package at no extra cost but if Leopard taken or wounded and lost then a pre agreed success fee will be charged.

21 and 28-day hunts.
