Innovations/System improvements

 Introduction of “Contactless Thermal Scanning and Ticket Checking devices” during pandemic for provision of Safe journey to passengers:

During the Corona pandemic, first time over SCR, Guntur Division has conceptualized and introduced Contactless Thermal Scanning and Ticket Checking System for transporting the passengers with the best possible and safest manner incorporating latest innovative technology.

In this concept, Contactless thermal screening of passengers will be done along with contactless ticket checking before entry of the platform from the isolated cubicles. To perform this task, a smart pillar has been equipped with devices like, customized Bluetooth IR thermal sensors with colour indication lights to record thermal temperature by placing palm in front of the device with in distance of 10 CM along with a WEBCAM with high resolution to get the real time ticket images from each passenger. The feeds of temperature and ticket images have been captured and provided to the staff manning in an isolated cubicle through a customized software along with storage facilities for each passenger with necessary temperature threshold alerts. Ticket Checking staff manned in the cubicles will monitor these activities in Cubicles like operation of systems and data collection from smart poles and assist/guide the passengers to platforms to board the train. The implementation of the innovative concept of “Contactless Thermal Scanning and Ticket Checking devices” over Guntur Division not only ensure the safety of passengers and also the front line staff working in the needy hour for smooth working of operations during the pandemic.
