SCHOOL DISTRICT The La Conner School District serves approximately 600 students in three schools: Elementary (K-5), Middle (6-8), and High (9-12).

COMMUNITY The La Conner School District of Skagit County, Washington includes more than 100 square miles of land surrounded by the Skagit River, the Swinomish Channel, and Padilla and Skagit Bays. Serving approximately 600 students in its three schools on a central campus, the school district has benefited from a long history of incredible community support for levies and bonds. Home of the Swinomish Tribe, La Conner School District and the Tribal Community have created cooperative programs to help students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes fundamental to lifelong learning.

SCHOOL La Conner High School (LCHS) is a comprehensive 4-year public high school, grades 9 – 12. LCHS offers Advanced Placement, Honors and College in the High School credits in addition to general education classes. Juniors and seniors also enjoy the opportunity to attend the Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NWCTA) to obtain industry level training or attend Running Start classes at the local community college.

HIGH SCHOOL FACULTY The staff is comprised of a principal, assistant principal/athletic director, librarian, counselor, 22 teachers, 3 Tribal para- educators and 4 support staff members. Special services include a district psychologist, a 5th – 12th /intervention specialist, a district school nurse, and a Special Education program.

CLASS RANK All high school credit-bearing subjects are used to compute grade point average and class rank. Grades and class rank are unweighted. P and N/C grades are not included.

This includes creating a Mathematics 3 credits 3 credits portfolio and formulating activities to Social Studies 3.5 credits 3 credits complete the High School and Beyond plan. Science 3 credits (2 lab) 2 credits Career & Technical 2 credits 1 credit 40 hours of Community Service and 10 Fine Arts 2 credits 2 credits Political Hours are also required.
