1. Situation update: 1.1 The flood is rising along the main rivers in the Republic of Moldova – Nistru and Prut. The most serious damages caused by the floods are in regions of – in the north, Hincesti, , Nisporeni in the center of the country. It is expected that the flood situation will get worse in the regions , Gurgiulesti – in the north. There is flood protection preparedness measures along Prut River in the Briceni and Edint regions. 1.2 As a consequence of flooding about 3300 persons have been evacuated, more than 350 houses are flooded and some of them are destroyed and nearly 1100 houses are at the risk of being flooded. 1.3 The floods affect about 33.528 ha of agricultural lands, destroyed 19 bridges, 76 wells, 182 km of roads, 10 dams, educational and administrative buildings. 1.4 Necessary actions have been carried out by Moldovan authorities in the regions Briceni – Drepcauti, Criva on the North part, Hincesti – Nemteni – Cotul, Morii – Obileni – Sarateni, Ungheni – Macaresti, Nisporeni – Grozesti – Barboieni, Cahul – Slobozia Mare. 1.5 A large number of volunteers, thousands of rescues and firemen, policemen, military troops and customs guard are involved in the flood protection works. All National resources available for disaster response and measures are being employed.

2. The following requirements for international assistance have been identified: Nr. 3. Assistance provided/offered by EAPC Nations:

3.1 The EADRCC has been informed that the Federal State Hesse (Germany) offers 30.000 sandbags (60x30cm). The complete costs for the sandbags and the transportation will be covered by Germany.

3.2 The following assistances have been offered to Moldova through EU – Civil Protection Mechanism:

− Austria:

31.000 sand bags (PP/ polypropylene, dimension 40 x 70 cm) packed on 4 EURO pallets LxWxH = 1.200x800x1.200 mm, weight: 1.200kg;

3.840 m² PE plastic sheets/tarpaulins containing of 96 pieces each 10x4 m, thickness 0,2 mm packed on 2 EURO pallets LxWxH = 1.200x800x1.200 mm, weight: 590 kg.

− The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has offered assistance to Moldova by nominating coordination/assessment experts.
