SPORTS ACADEMIES All learners will have the opportunity to join one of Loughborough College’s Sport Academies to fit around their studies. You can join Football (Men’s & Women’s), Rugby Union (Men’s & Women’s), Basketball, Netball, Futsal, Cricket & Volleyball and receive expert coaching to develop your skills. There are added costs to access these academies.

LOUGHBOROUGH SU ATHLETIC UNION CLUBS When you join Loughborough College you become a member of Loughborough Students Union (LSU) allowing you to join any one of their 57 sporting AU clubs. Loughborough College learners can train with the sport teams across the road at the university (if your ability is good enough, which will be assessed at trials) but they can not compete in BUCS competitions. There are added costs to access these clubs.

22 COACH AND VOLUNTEER ACADEMY (CVA) Loughborough SU Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA) provides our students with valuable sport based coaching, volunteering and leadership opportunities to enhance their experience and personal development.

MAJORCA (SPORT) Level 3 learners have the opportunity to train & study for 4 weeks during their course at a warm weather training facility in Majorca. Education, elite training and cultural learning experiences are offered to learners involved in swimming, triathlon, cross country running & tennis.

Our specialist advisors can also help with additional requirements, and we have a fantastic team of learning support assistants who can provide in-class assistance.

WHAT FUNDING IS AVAILABLE FOR TUITION FEES? There are no tuition fees for full-time students under 19 who are enrolled on a

Further Education course. If you’re over 18, see page 3 for guidance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T GET THE GRADES I WAS EXPECTING? If you don’t get your predicted results, don’t panic! Our Student Recruitment team is on hand to help, and we’ll make sure that we find

another course that is suitable for you.

CAN I WORK A PART-TIME JOB WHILST STUDYING? We recommend no more than 8-9 working hours per week. Research has shown that 10+ hours can negatively affect academic achievement, so make sure you’re prioritising correctly.
