Dusit Thani Public Company Limited to expand its operations with the launch of its first standalone restaurant concept – Baan Dusit Thani – on 18 September 2019 in

New concept is designed to bring value to all stakeholders by expanding market reach, trialling new concepts that can be introduced at Dusit Hotels & Resorts worldwide, and maintaining brand awareness in the local market while Dusit’s flagship hotel, Dusit Thani Bangkok, is redeveloped as part of landmark mixed-use project, Dusit Central Park.

Bangkok, , 16 September 2019 – Dusit Thani Public Company Limited (DTC), or , one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, is set to expand its lines of business in Bangkok by opening its first standalone restaurant concept – Baan Dusit Thani – to respond to shifting consumer tastes and provide a new place to eat, meet and hold weddings and social events in the heart of the city’s Central Business District.

Designed to continue the hospitality heritage of DTC’s flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel, which is currently being redeveloped as part of Dusit Central Park, a USD1.2 billion mixed-use project set to open in 2023, Baan Dusit Thani occupies a beautifully restored stately home with history dating back to before World War II. The property is set over 4.5 Rai (7,200 sq m) on Sala Daeng Road, only 100 metres from the flagship hotel and just a five minute walk from both the Sala Daeng BTS (Skytrain) and Silom MRT (underground) stations.

Providing a fitting new home for staff from Dusit Thani Bangkok while the new hotel is being built, the carefully curated space features three reimagined signature outlets from Dusit Thani Bangkok, each set within a different heritage building and surrounded by a beautifully maintained and pet- friendly garden.

The elevated concepts include Benjarong Thai Restaurant, Thien Duong Vietnamese Restaurant, and Dusit Gourmet & Garden Bar. Unique events spaces are available for small or large social and private events, including Dancing Hall, a semi-outdoor pavilion which can be easily transformed into an enclosed air-conditioned space. The pavilion was historically used as the setting for private parties and discos arranged by the owner of the heritage home. All outlets and spaces will be officially opened on 18 September 2019.

To cater to long-term fans of Dusit Thani Bangkok, each signature outlet will feature the most popular dishes from its hotel counterpart. To respond to shifting consumer tastes, the venues will also trial new concepts that DTC will use to enhance the food and beverage offerings at Dusit Hotels & Resorts worldwide.

Baan, translated to English, means home, and every effort has been made to embrace the original architecture of the heritage buildings while simultaneously reflecting the distinctive character of Dusit Thani Bangkok to create a warm and welcoming venue that brings value to the broader community.

“This unique and exciting venue is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of fans of Dusit Thani Bangkok and also expand our market reach to introduce the hotel’s signature venues and Thai- inspired, gracious hospitality and services to consumers who prefer to dine at standalone

restaurants,” said Khun Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO, Dusit International. “At the same time, by monitoring and responding to shifting consumer tastes, Baan Dusit Thani gives us the perfect opportunity to experiment with new concepts, respond to new trends, and then use our findings to enhance the food and beverage operations at Dusit Hotels & Resorts worldwide.

“From promoting healthy living from the use of organic, wholesome ingredients, to offering a large, green space where local residents can relax with their pets, our holistic approach to lifestyle, coupled with our legacy offerings, has broad appeal and will ensure that Dusit Thani Bangkok stays top of mind while our new flagship hotel is being built – all while bringing value to the community via the many experiences that we offer.”
