A ship with a thousand different facets whose splendour is brought out by the remarkable illumination, with 3,100 metres of LED lighting to emphasise the beauty of its sophisticated interiors and 120 chandeliers with Murano glass pendants that sparkle in the Supernova Atrium, the perfect setting for Botero’s “Donna Sdraiata 2004”. Costa Luminosa has a wealth of extraordinary original works of art on board, by contemporary maestros who have interpreted light and shade in their own inimitable way, creating some spectacular displays. A fine example is “Donna Sdraiata”, the incredible, monumental sculpture by the famous Colombian artist Fernando Botero that welcomes Guests in the Supernova Atrium. Works by artists who use different techniques and styles such as Mario Donizetti, Silvano Girardello, Elisa Rossi and Flavio Lucchini adorn all the public areas of the ship. This splendid “floating gallery” comprises 288 original works of art by internationally famous and up-and-coming artists, and no less than 4,733 reproductions.
