This summer and fall, we’re doing it a bit more literally — and you are invited to take part. As you may remember, The Great American Read began in May with a two-hour launch episode in which the list of 100 best-loved books was revealed and viewers were encouraged to vote for their favorites. Starting September 11 at 8 pm, and for the next six Tuesdays, one-hour themed episodes will examine concepts common to groups of books on the list. The Grand Finale airs October 23, when the final results — the number one book! — will be revealed. At this writing, about 2 million votes have been cast. How about yours? Friends and neighbors in U.S. and Canada, you still have time to cast your ballot for your favorite books among the 100.
